"Hayato! Oi! Where are ya, brat?!" I called to my lover/fiancé. But no reply came. I growled and scratched my mane angrily. "That cat is testing my patience," I muttered. Then a cry came out of nowhere. I turned to the direction it came from and noticed the bushes rustle.
"Yo, boss!" Bel greeted with a wave of his hand. As usual, his hair was unruly and his bangs were covering his eyes but his lips are formed in a permanent grin. I rolled my eyes.
"Did you see Hayato?" I asked him, barely giving him a glance. He feigned disappointment before answering. "I'm very sorry, boss, but I didn't see him on my way here. Where do you think the little kitten has gone?"
"That's what I've been thinking of, you idiot," I said.
He raised his hands in mock surrender before speaking formally, "I've got some reports I've gotta say, boss." I nodded for him to continue. And he reported things that weren't important to me. When he was done, I told him to go. He bowed before running through the bushes from which he came.
I growled again in frustration. Just where is that blasted cat?! Then a thought came to me. My bedroom. I went back to the mansion, my tail swishing left and right excitedly. I turned many hallways and passed many doors. When I reached the door to my room, I immediately opened them.
I looked around and didn't see the figure of my lover. But when my eyes focused on the bed, I noticed a lump under the sheets. A smirk forms in my lips as I slowly approach the bed. When I was just beside the object of my frustration, I took the sheets off of him.
And there I saw, curled into a ball with his tail lying around him and his figure humming with peace, my lover/fiancé, asleep and curled up. So that's why I couldn't find him anywhere. He's taking his daily nap again. I wonder why I didn't think of that possibility sooner.
I poked him on the cheek. He just swatted it away and scratched his cheek. I grunted before kicking him in the stomach. I can't have this little cat swatting my hand away even if he doesn't know it's mine.
He woke up.
He looked around, hissing, until he sees me in front of him. He calms down then rubs his eyes. "What is it?" he asks irately. I crossed my arms and glared at him. "You were supposed to beckon to my call. I've called many times already and yet you didn't show up. How dare you."
He yawns then looks at me with a blank stare. "I was taking my nap. Can't a cat have a peaceful nap without having people kick them in the guts? If you'd like, we can take a nap together. But since I think you're not in the mood for one, then I'll be sleeping by myself, thank you," he stated before lying back down again and curling into a ball.
I rolled my eyes and slipped in beside him. He scoots nearer to me and rubs his head to my chin affectionately as he purred. I hmmm-ed before encasing him in my arms. I yawn and hold him tighter before closing my eyes to sleep.
"Love you," I hear him whisper and I chuckled. "I love you more," I whisper back to him in his ear and he purrs. I twist my tail around his and answer him with a soft, satisfied growl.
