"Hey, Doctor?" Amy stood in the console room watching the Time Lord dance around the controls, eyes fixed upon a particular spot on his right collarbone.

"Yes?" The man slowed down for a moment to speak, then resumed his rhythm.

"Do you dry clean your clothes?"

"Um - No, I throw them in the wash. Why?"

"Because you've got a little... hole... in your jacket. Right about there." She pointed to her own shoulder. He froze. His eyes met hers and slowly trailed down to her hand pointing at a spot near her chest. He let his gaze wander to his jacket and his eyes grew wide as tennis balls as he fingered the bundle of severed tweed fibers.

"No!" He looked at Amy again and she watched as his eyes welled up with tears. One spilled over and ran down his pale cheek, then another, and another, until he was crying loudly. Her brow furrowed in confusion. It was just a small rip.

What was the big deal?

The Doctor was sobbing uncontrollably now. He took off his jacket and screamed into it, the sound muffled by the cloth balled up in his hands. His shoulders shook heavily and he fell to his knees in anguish. Amy had no idea what to do, so she left the room to grab a box of tissues. When she returned, the Doctor was dressed in a burlap sack. His hair was sloppily shaved and he rolled around in ashes, covering himself in them. She was beginning to panic when, all of a sudden, the crying ceased and the Doctor looked up at her. As if by some miracle, the ashes disappeared and his hair popped back into place, as did his clothes. He stood and grinned, eyes red but mischievous.

"Gotcha!"

"What?" She was utterly perplexed.

"I was just kidding. The TARDIS helped me mess with you. She's got a great sense of humour." He patted one of the levers.

"So... That was all a joke?"

"Yeah. I noticed the hole in the seam this morning. I was hoping you'd catch it so I could do that!" He clapped his hands together and let out a laugh. "Do you want to help me pick out another one?" She closed her eyes tightly, still quite confused.

"Another what?"

"Another jacket. Or maybe the same one." He put an arm around her and they walked towards the wardrobe. "I was thinking about a green velvet one. Maybe longer than this one. What do you think of green velvet? I love it. Do you know

I once wore a coat of many colours, like Joseph? I met him once. Neat guy. Seemed to have a lot of foreknowledge. He told me something about the fall of silence, whatever that means. Hey, have I ever told you about the time I..."
