Luke wasn't one to believe in stuff like God, the so called almighty creator of the earth, or angels for that fact. He believed in demons, of course, since Hades himself raised an army of them in the realm beneath the surface. He'd told everyone as such as well, even admitted that he thought of himself as a demon once everything was over and the lightning bolt was returned.
He counted himself lucky, of course, when everyone accepted him back to the camp, like he was one of the ones who helped bring back the bolt. And maybe, in their eyes, it was true; he had no knowledge that Percy, the son of Poseidon, had said anything to them about him... and their fight.
Percy, the one demi-god that actually made a difference around here, and the one person that matched up to Luke himself. Luke admitted to himself that, though he didn't believe in such, he saw Percy as some sort of blessed being. A person with a pure heart; an angel if you must.
"Luke..." Luke turned his head, dark blue-green eyes focusing on the demi-god behind him; the other teens brown hair disheveled from the wind and his blue eyes dark, but sparkling from the light of the torches surrounding them.
"Percy," he said, offering a smile and Percy smiled back, walking up to stand beside him, looking over the dark blue water. Luke chuckled and tilted his head, "And what is the hero of the half-bloods doing out at night? Shouldn't you be asleep?" He questioned and Percy sighed.
"I can't sleep." He said softly and Luke frowned at this, narrowing his eyes and Percy turned towards him. Luke finally saw how rattled the other looked, and the haunted look in his eyes.
"Did you have the nightmare again?" He asked, his voice dropping a notch and he reached out, placing a hand on Percy's shoulder. Percy nodded mutely and looked back over the water, "I'm sorry..." he murmured, and he sighed before pulling Percy towards him, wrapping his arms loosely around the other. He only tightened his hug when Percy relaxed and hugged him back. "Angels shouldn't have to go through the pain you went through... the pain you are going through." He whispered into Percy's hair and he heard a soft snort come from him.
"I'm hardly an angel." Percy said and Luke smiled.
"Maybe so, but you are an angel in my eyes." He answered, kissing Percy's hair and he barely felt the other smile.
An angel indeed, Luke decided, but then, maybe that was alright.
Seventh one in the collection(I forgot again...)~ Next one is for School of Rock and will be posted tomorrow.
