The liquid is satisfying, burning so that Lauren tingles all over, feeling better than anything else. It's hardly whiskey but the thought of drinking illicit Champagne is still thrilling.
And permitted because the Olympics are all but over and she's got a gold medal.
The thought spins around in her head, or maybe her head's just spinning. It doesn't matter because she's got a gold medal.
'Lo,' Carter's voice cuts through and she's got a big silly grin on her face. Before she sees him, his lips crush hers and she think this burn is definitely better, much more satisfying.
