Thirty minutes was far too long to be awake and not moving. At least, that was how Rabbit felt at the moment. He was stuck on his back, legs bent at right angles and his right hand poised over his chest. He guessed that he probably shouldn't have pulled the wire sticking out of his shirt. As soon as he had done it, his chassis had frozen, his limbs stopped working, and he had wound up on the floor, entirely immobile.

Way to go, Rabbit, he thought. Now you'll be the one missing the ice cream parade. In the midst of his moping, he heard light footsteps in the hallway. They paused, and then became muffled as they stepped onto carpet. A pair of flats came into his vision, walking with a slow, even pace. They stopped by his head, and one foot began to tap. Rabbit brought his mismatched eyes from the stripy-socked feet up to the miss's face. Oh, dear.

Walter Girl Selena looked down at him, her blue lips curved into a smirk. Her hands were placed on her hips, and one eyebrow was lifted mischievously.

"Hi!" Rabbit squeaked, drawing the word out. He gave a few short chuckles. "I'm stuck."

"Really?" she answered, still smirking at the copper bot. "What did you do?"

Rabbit flicked his eyes away, suddenly deciding that he didn't want to meet the smug girl's gaze. "I pulled a wire."

Walter Girl Selena sighed and shook her head. Kneeling down, she rolled him onto his side and slid the back of his shirt up. Gears ticked, and joints clicked, and Rabbit could feel bits in his chassis turning and unlocking as the young lady fiddled around behind him. His hydraulics made a sharp hiss, and then came a feeling of freedom as his limbs went limp.

"There we go!" he said with relief. He rolled back over and stood so that he now towered over the kneeling Walter Girl.

"Don't mess with that wire again. Got it?" she warned, taking the automaton's hand and pulling herself up to her feet.

"Got it, M-M-M-M-Miss Selena. Thanks!" The young lady turned and walked away, but she only made it halfway to the doorway before Rabbit felt the need to say something else. "W-w-wait a sec!" She paused and looked back at him. "Don't tell the other Walter Girls," he pleaded.

Walter Girl Selena smirked again, the mischief returning to her face. "Sure thing," she answered with a trace of a giggle. Then, with a flounce of her petticoats, she swiftly left the room.

"Nice girl. No wonder Petes hired her," Rabbit thought aloud. "I think she-think she's gonna like it he-here."

He nodded to himself, closed his vest over that bothersome wire, and went to spend some time with Jenny in the kitchen.
