I've written this little story for two challenges at the HPFC-forum. 100 stories under 100 word by ErynPotter and Lyric and Line Challenge by RoonilFreakin'Wazlib.
From the 100 stories-challenge did I use the prompt Key.
From the Lyric and Line-challenge did I use the pair Padma Patil/Seamus Finnegan, quote "Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor." - Truman Capote, prompt Incomplete, and song Need you now by Lady Antebellum. I used the quote, prompt and song as inspiration.
Word count: 100 (I hope that was okay, ErynPotter?)
She did not cry anymore.
She was not sad, angry, heartbroken, disappointed, rueful, hysterical.
She was done.
The apartment was still.
She was just about to fall asleep when she heard him.
He made a terrible sound outside the apartment door.
And she hated him for that.
Several times he tried to get in with the key he still had.
She hated him for that too.
When he finally stumbled into the hallway, drunk, loud, awful, she told him:
"The key. I want the key."
"I want you back."
"That's a lie. Give me the key. And don't come back."
