Hi. No, I don't own Pokémon. And no this isn't the fanfic I mentioned in my profile. This is a new plot bunny that popped out of nowhere after reading Wolfwhispers' fanfic "Mew's Tale: Creation".

Enjoy!

Chapter One: Now Which Era is Forthcoming Again?

The elders of Celestic Town in the Sinnoh region had found old scrolls that depicted an ancient ceremony to bring fortune and peace from the legendary Pokémon of all regions. So for the first time in thousands of years the ceremony was held, and everyone who was anyone was attending.

And that included the legendary Pokémon.

Not that they came as Pokémon, of course. Rather, they illused themselves into human form. Nonetheless Mew could find them all. Ho-oh, in his cape of a thousand colors that he always insisted on wearing, was accompanied by a shaggy brown-haired Entei, a sleek black-haired Raikou, and a violet-haired Suicune. Lugia still had to play the peace-keeper between the blue-haired Articuno, the spiky yellow-haired Zapdos and the red-haired Moltres.

The 'teenage' Uxie, Mesprit, and Azelf were playing around with some children too young to be trainers. Groudon and Kyogre were having a wrestling match with Rayquaza stubbornly staying close to the buffet table. Darkrai and Cresselia were dancing together; Mew knew very well that their closeness wasn't wholly due to her powers canceling out his.

Dialga and Palkia were roughhousing- nothing new there. Jirachi was dozing in a corner, since it wasn't the week in a thousand years he could be awake but the wish-granter was still having a good time. And even Giratina had been granted a night's reprieve from his exile to join the festivities. There were many other legendary Pokémon in attendance as well. But out of all these only Celebi could not be found however Mew didn't even try to look for her. The little sprite was long gone with her boyfriend.

Well, actually, he was her husband but which sounded better? Had gone off with her husband or had gone off with her boyfriend? That's what Mew thought.

Of course, the other Pokémon professors weren't as astute as Mew and were searching for their errant comrade. Mew giggled, trying to hide her smiling mouth behind her for-now human hands. She had gained the appearance of a cute ten-year-old girl with soft pink hair in a bob dressed in a poufy pink gown as she always did when in human form. Well, she could change clothes as she pleased but Mew liked her 'natural' human form too much to tweak in any way.

"They are enjoying themselves," stated Arceus, standing behind his mistress. "It is nice to see them so."

"Mew!" she chirped, momentarily forgetting herself. She grinned up at the somber black-haired man with color-changing eyes who was in truth one of the most powerful Pokémon and Mew's first.

"It has been a while, hasn't it? Since we've all been together, I mean."

"Indeed."

Mew sighed happily, sitting down suddenly.

"I'm glad they are enjoying themselves. This era is going to end soon, you know."

"I know."

Mew looked up at him fondly.

"Oh, of course you did. Now, this new era will be the tenth, won't it?"

"No, because it was in the thirteenth that Raiku, Entei, and Suicune were reborn."

"So… is it the sixteenth?"

"I am not sure, Mew."

"Hmm." Mew thought hard. "Let me think about this for a while."

"Of course."

And Mew began to reflect, her mind sifting far back to a time when she was alone in this dimension while the celebrations continued.
