Edward's Seduction (Example)
What exactly do we mean when we say that we want you to "think pretty, not porno" or that we want you to "show us" what eroticism is to you? Read on!
Bella looked at Edward as she unzipped her dress. She touched her sides as she parted the fabric to reveal her skin. The candlelight lit her up, making Edward want to have sex with her.
He watched as she pulled the dress free. It fell on the floor.
"Fuck me," she said and pointed at him. She lay down on the bed. Her hair seemed more red than brown as it spread on the pillows in the light.
Edward growled. He was so ready to fuck her like she wanted.
While that's certainly smutty, it's not very erotic, is it? In fact, most would probably agree that it's boring to read, not particularly well written, and not much of a turn on.
How about this, instead:
Bella held Edward's gaze as she reached for the zipper on her dress. Her fingertips skimmed along her sides as she inched the dark fabric slowly apart, revealing the soft skin beneath. The candlelight seemed to caress her body with each little move she made, causing Edward's heart to pound in his chest in response. The desire to get lost in her golden skin, soft sighs and brown eyes was overwhelming in that moment.
The dark dress slipped free of her body and slithered to the floor as he watched, awed at her quiet confidence and natural beauty. He swallowed hard, barely breathing.
"I want you to fuck me," she said softly, crooking her finger in his direction as she lay back on the bed. Her hair tumbled across the silky sheets in waves, seeming more red than brown in the rippling candlelight.
Edward growled in response to her breathless demand, wanting nothing more than to give her what she wanted. To fuck her like she wanted.
It's the same scene, but the added description gives it an entirely different feel. It's what you might expect to read in a romance or erotica novel. That's what we want you to aim for here. It doesn't have to be wordy or flowery… but it should be descriptive enough to capture our imagination and turn us on.
Think pretty (descriptive, sexy; a turn on), not porno (crude, unimaginative and/or over-done). That said, explicit is okay too. Just make us fall in love with it! :)
Simple enough, right?
