I Can Get Through This

WARNINGS: Spoilers for Impel Down. If you don't like spoilers and haven't read up to the Impel Down arc, then read at your own risk. (I've always wanted to say that.) There is blood in this short fiction so it's rated T just to be on the safe side.

DICLAIMER: I do not own One Piece or any of its characters.

Okay, so I wrote this fiction when I was actually supposed to be working but I couldn't concentrate on work and this idea just sort of popped into my mind so I decided to take a quick break and just get this off of my mind ^^;

This is just a short take on what happened in Impel Down when Luffy was going through that painful "healing session" Ivankof had brought upon him when he was poisoned by that Poison Guy. So, here it is! ^^

It was painful; so very painful! It felt like the life was getting sucked right out of him! His breathing was getting more and more laborious as more fiery pain shot up through his whole body and he let out another bloodcurdling scream through the thick air around him that smelled heavily of his own blood.

He could barely make out the screams of his friend from the other side of the door that kept him trapped in this small room, strapped down in heavy chains.

More pain coursed through his body as yet another scream filled the air, only making the atmosphere tenser on the other side of the door where people were waiting for him, his friend Bon Clay screaming that he could get through this and to not give up.

The pain coursing through his body was so immense that he couldn't think, couldn't really hear the words of his friend. But even as he was going through hell he knew somebody believed in him and was encouraging him to get through all this pain alive. That alone further strengthened his will and determination to live.

Blood was pouring from his body and covering the floor like a thick crimson blanket, pouring out from underneath the door which had him trapped in this dark little room. More blood continued to seep through the door as one last scream filled the air again, then: silence.

The people on the other side of the door were tensed and anxiously waiting to see if the young man inside the room had actually made it through alive.

Suddenly the doors were trying to be opened with fierce punches as everyone was waiting and watching… One loud yell was heard from the other side of the door,

"FOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!"

Relief swept through Bon Clay as he knew his friend had made it through and tears were flowing rapidly down his cheeks. Everyone had broken into loud cheering and kept delivering more and more tons of food to the hungry boy that was still inside the room.

Luffy had now come out of the room covered in his own blood and exhausted but grateful for the food. As he listened to the people around him speak and cheer and the "Okama guy" Ivankof told him what his friend had done and that he had practically screamed his heart out in order to urge him onwards, he knew he owed his friend much. A wave of relief that his friend was alright and gratitude washed over him as he bowed low before his friend and said,

"…. Bon-chan, thank you! I am in your debt!!!!"

'Yes,' Luffy thought happily to himself, grinning inwardly,

'I'll be able to get through any situation as long as I have my precious friends there to help guide me along the way.'

Okay! So, what did ya think of it? Yes, I know it was really short but it was fun to write! Any instructive criticism will be welcomed and I'll use that to help me with future writing! :D
