My friend David has been asking for me to write a Neji/Tenten. Guess this ones dedicated to you then :P
He stood there, waiting.
The forest was a perfect place to train for stealth combat. Even then though, Neji Hyuga could not be surprised.
The figure leapt out from her hiding spot, kunai aiming for Neji's back.
With one swift move, he had grabbed her arm, released the kunai from her hand, and used the weapon as his own, hovering over her neck.
The Hyuga smirked. "I win again."
He released his grip of Tenten and she sighed, rubbing her arm. "Yeah, yeah. You win."
"You're attacks are too obvious for these eyes of mine," he said, tapping his temple.
Tenten looked at him. "The eyes that see all, right?"
Neji looked up to the sky and nodded.
She smiled. "I'm done with training today. How about we walk home?"
Neji crossed his arms and began to walk. "Alright then."
As they began their walk, silence came.
"You know," she began, attempting to break the awkward silence between them. "There aren't many flowers around in this area of the forest."
Neji pointed to their right. "Over there behind the tree you'll find some."
Tenten pursed her lips. "Your eyes again?"
Neji smirked. "They never miss a thing."
"You really think so?"
Neji raised an eyebrow and stopped. "Positive."
Tenten smiled sweetly at him and continued walking, hands behind her back. "Well I think your eyes miss out on things."
Neji eyed her and walked on, trying to catch up. "What could they possibly be?"
She spun around to become face to face with the pale eyed man. "What they miss," she began, pointing to her chest, "is in here."
Neji looked at her puzzled. "My eyes can see your chakra points, as well as sum of the structures in your body. You know this, Tenten."
"I don't mean what's inside me, I mean what is within me," she said softly.
"Within you?"
Tenten leaned forward and kissed him, causing his eyes to widen.
Their lips parted. She closed her eyes. "You don't see that I love you."
Neji gasped slightly, but quickly composed himself. He kissed her again, this time Tenten filled with surprise.
"You're right," he began, holding her close. "My eyes can't see everything."
He closed his eyes again, his head leaning on hers."But you've opened them to see what I need to."
End.
