Never Forget Us!
A short Ed and Winry fanfic. It takes place after the movie Conqueror of Shamballa. I wrote this after I heard the song "Hey there, Delilah." This song strongly reminded me of Ed and Winry. Listen to the song and read the fanfic and you'll see why.
Ed writes a letter to Winry while he's in Germany.
Dear Winry,
How's life in Amestris? Even though I'm in a different world than you…with Al, I'm fine; uh, well I'm not trying to say that I'm fine without you, what I'm trying to say is…ugh, never mind.
Anyways…I'm not sure if you're ever even going to get this letter…but…um….I wanted to let you know that I really, really miss you, and I wish you were here with me and Al…even though Al's here with me, I feel as if I lost something back in Amestris. I feel so strange without you; uh, and everyone else of course…
If you ever even think of me…I just want you to know I'll always be with you…um, Al too…
It's really weird what just remembering you can do to me. Whenever I think about you…I wonder why I ever tried to bring back my mother. If I hadn't, then Al wouldn't have had to suffer being in a suit of armor…and we wouldn't have been stuck in this parallel world. If we just listened to old Pinako…then, maybe this would've never happened, and Al and I would still be with you! And we would still be in Rizembool, having lots of fun like we had when we were kids…
But I think I finally understood why we ended up like this. Because I was finally reunited with Al fully restored, I would have to give up something very important to me.
And…I think that very someone was you.
I'm really sorry if I ever hurt your feelings in any way. If I were still in Amestris; no, Rizenbool; you really don't know how happy I'd be!
Al and I are trying to find a way to come back to Amestris. And the entire reason…is because I want to be with you. Hopefully we'll see each other soon!
