"You lied!" Cheng Li shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Connor, her almond eyes narrowed in anger and a scowl prominent on her face.

"I did it to protect you!" Connor yelled back, growing increasingly frustrated, and getting dangerously close to Cheng Li's face.

"Protect me?" Cheng Li repeated at the top of her lungs. Enraged, she thrust her palms against Connor's chest and sent him flying backwards, hitting his head on the beam of The Diablo in the process. Cheng Li blinked, looking at his crumpled form on the floor of the deck as he rubbed his head and groaned. "Oh my… I'm sorry, Connor. I shouldn't have done that." She ran over to him, sitting on her ankles on the floor beside him, face twisted in regret.

Connor blinked open his eyes, letting go of his head and smiling slightly. "It's okay. You had every right to."

Cheng Li twisted her hands in her lap. "I was just so angry… why did you have to lie, Connor?" She hesitantly reached out a hand to brush against the side of his head, feeling for any possible swelling.

Connor continued to smile sheepishly and gently pulled her hand away. "I'm sorry. I was trying to protect you. If I had told you that the sword you gave me didn't feel right in my hands, you would have been yelled at by Captain Wraith when you went to request a new one! You know how he gets about wasting his supplies. I didn't want you and him to have another fight because of me."

Cheng Li smiled a little and let Connor kiss her cheek. "Apology accepted… and I'm sorry for pushing you. But no more lies, please."

Connor nodded, grinning. "No more lies."
