A/N: This is for the prompt 'all I ask of you' from rarepair_shorts on LJ which inspired me to write it based on the song of the same title in Phantom of the Opera. This is also for the fanfiction writing month and is 268 words.
Harry pulled his wife into his arms and held her close.
"I will never, ever, let anyone hurt you," he said trying to reassure Astoria that everything would be alright.
"I thought that living in fear was behind us. That we could just live in peace," Astoria cried.
"We will be able to once we've caught the bastards who did this. I promise you, Astoria, you will be safe. They can't get to you with me by your side so they are trying to do it when we're apart."
Harry felt guilty that things had come to this.
As the wizard who defeated Voldemort and brought down many of his Death Eaters, Harry had often received threats to maim, torture and kill him. Most of those threats had been eliminated but one was persistent and managed to kill his Astoria's parents when they should have been meeting her for lunch.
"All I ask is that you promise me you won't leave me. Promise you'll stay with me wherever they want to send me. I don't want you to leave my side. I don't want to have to lose you too," Astoria said as she lifted her head and looked into his eyes.
"I promise I am never going to leave you. I love you, Astoria. I vowed to share every day of my life with you, and I will. Nothing and no one will tear us apart," Harry told her.
The next day they were secretly moved somewhere no one could find them, and hopefully after a while they could leave their fears behind them and move on.
