Frankly, I'm surprised things turned out this way. Cerberus put me, Kate Shepard, cousin of John Shepard, in control of The Lincoln. There was a catch, however: I was to escort a dangerous prisoner to a Cerberus base as my first mission aboard the ship to make my command official. Whether or not there were any dangers, if I was to meet this prisoner again after I gave him to the Illusive Man, or if this mission was important wasn't told to me. I went to Purgatory, and picked up the convict, thinking that the mission would be quick and easy. Here's the Prisoner's profile:
First Name: Drake
Last Name: ???
Alias: Drake 505, 505, or Prisoner 505 (all pronounced as 'five-oh-five')
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Blue
Species: Human
Height: 5-6 ft.
He was supposedly put in Purgatory for an assassination that had twenty aliens killed, all mercenaries working under the Blood Pack. The target was going to run for office, a pro-alien Asari. They never found out who hired Drake, though. He just sat there being 'interrogated', not grunting, groaning, or making any other sound under the pain. When I picked him up Warden Kuril informed me of what Illium had done: they paid double the rate to have him be prisoner 505, triple the rate to have '505' tatooed on the back of his neck, and quadruple to have him cost more than almost every other person on Purgatory. Warden Kuril gave Drake a nosebleed after Drake made a snide comment ("I get a ship, a girl, and I get to leave this hellhole. I thought only good-guys prospered"), after which Kuril was happy to release 505.
On the way to the base, however, Drake began talking to me, telling me his story. He'd had a rough life, his time in the Alliance giving him a mild case of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder He'd met my cousin before the Skylian Blitz, citing that 'he was an honor to ever meet.' I soon grew to like 505, first as a friend, then something more. I began to worry that Cerberus was going to 'get rid of him', and began going to the base slower each day. I'd take a detour to the Citadel there, have a drink at a bar there... But we were still getting to the base faster than I wanted. Honestly, I'd have completely stopped if I could've without the Illusive Man sending people to 'get rid' of me.
505 noticed, however, and when he brought it up I told him of my feelings. All of them. Of how I loved his honesty, how I used to think of him as just a resource, not a person...He got me to stop crying, and we began to kiss. He told me that everything would be okay. How could I not believe him? His smooth, deep voice soothed my worries, made everything in the galaxy seem okay. I haven't seen him in a week, but I figured I should write down what happened. I'm going to ask the Illusive Man what happened next time we meet. If he says he was killed, I'll know he's lying. 505 isn't a man you can kill without him finishing a job, whether it be a job as an assassin, or a beautiful, red-haired Cerberus Officer's desires.
