The Ultimate Gift

Author's Note: I'm not dead. It's just taking along time for me to come up with stories worth posting. The POV will change a lot in this story. O.K. I'll shut up now. Go read, review!! Pretty please I need reviews.

Disclaimer: O.k. we all know the drill. I don't own the Ducks. Disney does.

Tanya's POV

I'll never forget that day. The entire team had gone to the park together. I sounds extremely corny, but it's nice. We always do that every other Saturday. Wing and Dive were playing Frisbee, which eventually resulted in a wrestling match. Grin and Mallory were sitting by a fountain playing chess. That just left Duke and I, and outside of hockey we aren't real big on group activities. So, I lounged on a bench and flipped through Science Monthly, while he lay across a large tree limb reading the newest John Grisham novel.

Then it happened. We heard the all too familiar sound of the Sarks' spaceship. It landed quietly in a grove of trees. Surprisingly, none of the humans noticed it. Mallory and Grin were the first to reach it, followed Duke, then Wing, Dive and me. I was in no hurry to get over there; the Sarks are usually the bearers of bad news. This time however was different.

When they came down out of the ship, their leader Zanor walked right past Mallory and Grin and straight to Duke. He bowed weakly and held out a withered ash colored hand. Duke returned the gesture nervously. After what seemed to be an eternity of silence, Zanor finally spoke. His tone was emotionally void and listless.

"Duke L'orange, I have grave news of your friend Antonia Marcianno. She died in a Saurian work camp" he stated flatly. Shocked and saddened Duke began to ramble

"Tia. Dead. When? How?" Zanor held up his hand to silence him.

"Calm yourself, her passing was not all bad. She left a rare and beautiful gift to Puckworld and more specifically to you" he said as he pushed forward a small gray feathered little girl with enormous chocolate eyes and silky black curls. She wore a loose dress that was probably at one time pink and her hair was pulled back with a dull cotton ribbon.

Finally he explained "Our DNA tests have proven it conclusively, this is your daughter, Emily". After staring at him for a minute she ran into Duke's arms and screamed "Daddy!". He picked her up and hugged her, but I could see he hadn't fully digested the idea yet.
