Criminal Minds
Chapter 1: Unexpected Push
I left my home, and soon after slipping my headphones into my ear. I received a text, from one of my very close friends, Kate. I quickly removed my hands from my coat pockets, and reached into my purse for my phone. The cold breeze, in my face, my neck warmed by the scarf covering it. The cold winter air felt good on my face, I loved winter.
Soon after, I received a reply, continuing a constant conversation. I was paying more attention to my phone than the world around me. Ever since I had gotten a phone, I had been very intent on my text messages.
So interested in my cyberspace conversation, I bumped into something. I looked up from my phone even after hearing the sound of a reply. It was a boy, slim with mid length (for a male) brown hair. I quickly looked down and realized I had spilt his coffee and caused him to drop the rest of his meal. "Oh my god!" I spoke in a surprised tone. "I'm so sorry, so so sorry," I apologetically spoke, "I didn't mean for that to happen!" I explained myself.
"It's okay, that was only my breakfast," the boy around my age replied quickly.
"No, It's not, let me buy you breakfast," I began to pay off my sins.
"No, It's quite alright. I can buy another breakfast," He repeated himself, as the word another echoed in my head.
"Seriously, I need to buy myself breakfast too anyways," I almost retorted as though he had made a rude comment.
"Alright, I guess" he said, finally agreeing to my terms.
"Okay. Well…. My names Stephanie, nice to meet you," I informed him of the basic information he would need.
"Nice to meet you as well Stephanie. I'm Spencer," He introduced himself.
"Well, I want to go to I-hop, What about you?" I requested my favourite breakfast spot while pointing towards the sign.
After walking into the restaurant, we were quickly seated. "So what are you going to get?" I questioned him while flipping through the menu myself.
"Pancakes with milk," He said the obvious.
"Oh I see." I finally decided what I would order. "Pancakes with a milkshake and sausages on the side." The average breakfast besides the milkshake. The waitress soon came to take our orders. The same as we had said before.
After she left, leaving us in peace again, I asked, "So… where did you get your breakfast before I ruined it?" Randomly, just what had come to mind. I wasn't going to ask him hobbies yet.
"I bought my breakfast previously at McDonalds," Answering my question.
"Oh, well it's a good thing I bumped into you, because the food here is much better," I gave myself an explanation for my previous actions.
"I guess so…." Spencer agreed with me.
The waitress soon came to our table with the food we had ordered. I licked my lips, bringing the food closer and then I began eating.
"So…. What do you do for a living?" I asked, out of topics.
"I'm a profiler for the F.B.I." He spoke calmly.
"Whoa seriously? The F.B.I. that's so cool!" I giggled in my excitement.
"Yeah, I guess so, what about you?" He asked the same question I had asked him.
"Well, I'm still in university, med-school, but for now I'm working at the Pizza place," I explained my current situation.
My phone rang, I quickly answered. "Oh, hey Kate, well you caused an accident, So I couldn't reply," I explained it to her and soon hung up.
After remembering I had a phone, I asked him, "Hey what's your number? It's been nice talking to you!" I asked him and he quickly gave me the answer. I remembered to tell him my number as well.
Soon after, we parted ways. But I was sure either I would call him, or he would call me.
