Effen Monkey

"My ship, you sunk my freakin' ship!" Will yelled furiously at Jack as he began stomping on his hat. Elisabeth grabbed Will's arm as he reached for his sword. Jack stormed away down the beach.

"There is absolutely no reason for that now. Jack didn't sink your ship, the minister did," Elisabeth told her angry fiancé. The two of them sat under a palm tree, and Bootstrap, Will's pet monkey clambered over and flopped onto Elisabeth's lap.

"Exactly, the so called man of the cloth that Jack hired…"

"He hired him to marry us at sea like we wanted, how was Jack supposed to know that he was a pirate, who was going to steal The Pearl, kidnap the crew, and blow up The Empress."

"Jack's a pirate himself, he should know this stuff." Elisabeth patted Will's arm in sympathy. Bootstrap began chattering for no apparent reason. Pointing in the direction Jack had wandered off in.

"Yo ho yo ho, a pirates life for me, eeee, e! Look, rum!" Jack yelled as he ran over a sand-dune towards the couple. He tripped over his own feet sending the rum bottle flying through the air. Bootstrap grabbed the open bottle off the beach, and drank the remainder of the contents. The drunken monkey waddled around attempting to walk back to Elisabeth.

Will and Elisabeth laughed hysterically at Bootstrap, as an enraged Jack pulled out his new gun and pointed it at Bootstrap.

"Don't shoot the monkey," Elisabeth yelled at Jack, as she stood up between Jack and Bootstrap.

"Put the gun down, NO, don't you do that, put the gun down!" Will yelled at his good friend.

"What are you protectin' tha' 'fing for!" Jack screamed drunkly. He stumbled forward towards Bootstrap who had only just become aware of the commotion. "'E drank the rest of the rum. Tha' stupid monkey drank the rum!"

"You want to shoot the monkey because he drank the rum that's stupid," Elisabeth exclaimed.

"Would you rather I shoot you? No, no, no, him. I'll shoot him."

"Me why me!" Will yelled in angry curiosity.

"He's your monkey." The drunken Jack yelled at Will. He raised his gun and aimed it directly between the monkey's eyes. Will lunged at Jack struggling for the gun, when the gun went off.

"MY FOOT!"

"Jack you moron, you almost shot my bloody foot off!" Elisabeth screamed. Bootstrap yelled and pointed at the spot where the bullet had hit the sand. Will ran over to his frenzied fiancé, when he got within an arm length of her she slapped him.

"And you! If you hadn't of started wrestling with him. It's not like we're getting off this Island anytime soon. Nobody's searching for us, no rum runners, and Jack your crew is probably already dead. So we are all going to die here, it's not like the monkey is any use other than food!" Elisabeth stormed away from them.

Jack grabbed Will's arm as he was about to go after her. "No use, mate. She'll calm down soon enough. Maybe," he said calmly.

"Effen monkey," Will muttered at Bootstrap, who in turn flipped the two men off before scurrying after Elisabeth.

That night as the others slept Bootstrap began working on the plan he had thought up earlier that day. He may have been a monkey, but he was smarter than most people, and seeing that like people he had opposable thumbs he could do a lot of human things. Especially things like building boats.
