She was a girl whose parents did not understand what a treasure she truly was.
He was always thought of as a jerk. No one bothered to look beyond the surface.
When she smiled it never seemed to reach her eyes, as if something was missing.
When a smiled showed upon his face, a rarity, his eyes showed he longed to be somewhere else.
She was gifted not only academically but musically as well.
His gift belonged on the race track- he was the MVP of the IG1 after all.
She was a rookie midfielder.
He a veteran forward.
But despite all of these differences when they came together on and off the track their lives became intertwined and the differences seemed to disappear.
She would cry
He would comfort.
He would show what was beneath the surface.
She would listen and accept.
They would laugh, cry, sing, dance, talk.
They would say I love you.
They would break free.
