Once your mother screams endless, hateful curses in your face,

Once your father beats you unmercifully,

Once your drunken mother hurls a glass bottle at your head,

Once your angry mother uses your unprotected body as an ashtray,

Once you know what it feels like to have a needle ruthlessly injected into the flesh of your arm,

Once your good-for-nothing father drives a knife deep within your calf,

Once your blood has been spilled on the floor of a dirty trailer,

Once your mother repeatedly slaps you,

Once your father violently throws your body against the wall,

Once your friends abandon you for being who you were raised to be,

Once you've been blamed for all that is wrong in the world,

Once you're told that you are hated by your parents,

Once you're told that your parents don't love you,

Once your father leaves,

Once you mother no longer cares about you,

Once you're alone in the world,

Once you have to care for yourself,

Once no one knows who you really are,

Once you are just another face in the crowd,

Once you have endured the pain that I went through everyday of my childhood,

Once you have been emotionally scarred for life,

Then you will understand why I cry,

In the darkest hour of the night.
