A shadow of a beast
Lay still in longing
Its future ceased

Pale skinned with white hair
Creeping from shadow to shadow
Its future bare
It was only a phantom
The love she felt
Though forever in her heart
The phantom dwelt
It was only a phantom
With glare cold as frost
His father who towered
All strength and beauty lost
It was only a phantom
He was pure by birth
Though it mattered not
In his love and mirth
It was only a phantom
Who let her all alone
And Ginny knows
As wind has blown
It was only a phantom
The one she loved.
