"That one's looking at you."
"Teme, you know damn well she's looking at you."
"Ah, you're right." Naruto sighed in irritation at Sasuke's flippant attitude. This was why he never went anywhere with this bastard. Good looking asshole.
"Come on, usuratonkachi. That self-pitying attitude of yours is why women don't like you."
Naruto wasn't going to deign that with a response, he wasn't even going to lift his head from the bar. What was the point? Why did he even keep coming out to bars like this? It just made him feel the loneliness which was always gnawing at the back of his mind.
Something cold and slightly wet tapped the side of his head. He shifted enough to look at Sasuke out of the corner of his eye. Onyx eyes looked at him with the same lack of expression as always as Sasuke held the beer out to him.
"Here."
Mumbling his thanks, Naruto took the offered drink, took a swig, then returned his head to the bar surface.
Sasuke let out a long-suffering sigh and Naruto could feel his knuckles itch with the urge to punch him. "This whole moody musician thing is getting old."
"I don't want to hear that from you, ttebayo."
Sasuke was silent for a minute. "That girl is definitely looking at you."
"Fuck. Off."
"She's heading this way now. I'm gonna go take a leak. Make sure you don't blow this, dobe." Naruto listened to the sound of Sasuke's fading footsteps with relief only to hear soft footfalls replace the ones before. Huh, definitely a girl.
"Um…" A voice as gentle as the petals of a flower, shy and quiet yet demanding of his attention. She was probably gorgeous. That was part of the reason he didn't look up.
"If you're looking for that black haired douche, he's in the bathroom." Naruto mumbled to the counter.
"A-actually I wanted to t-talk to you." What? "B-but if I'm bothering you I'll just leave you alone!"
Naruto popped up frantically to reassure her he wasn't bothered at all only to fall silent as he took in the sight before him. Waist length navy hair. A porcelain heart shaped face. He forced his eyes not to linger on the girl's well-endowed chest and met shocking pearl colored eyes. As soon as he did, pale cheeks colored and she averted her eyes, causing his cheeks to heat up in response.
Say something. Say something. "Um…hi?" Just shut up.
The girl pulled on the sleeves of her denim jacket nervously. "I-I was at your show j-just now a-and I just wanted to tell you h-how amazing you were." Him? Amazing?
She seemed to deflate at his silence and began to back away, an apology on her lips and the beginning of tears in her eyes.
He panicked. "I'm Naruto, dattebayo!" She looked confused and Naruto mentally willed himself to never speak again.
But she was no longer turning to leave. "I'm Hinata." Hinata. Why did that sound like music more beautiful than anything he had ever made? He felt desperate to keep her near him.
"Hinata." He repeated, savoring the sound. Grinning, he continued, holding his hand out to the stool next to him, "Can I get you a drink?" She smiled. Everyone wanted something beautiful. For Naruto, that something was her.

So cute, ne~ Naruto and Hinata are basically the only non-BL couple that I ship wholeheartedly. One of my friends is constantly ridiculing Hinata for her "weak" personality. Personally, I don't understand this perception of her. She's been met with nothing but rejection and disapproval since she was young. She's not going to be brash when it comes to revealing how she feels. Also, OF COURSE she's weak compared to Naruto. I think everyone is. But she's not the weakest character in the show. That I can say for certain. Okay. Ranting done.
Thank you for reading.
