Minerva just couldn't believe it. She was expecting her first child - at herage she hadn't even thought that it was possible! But what was worse was thather husband was now a wanted man. He had had no choice but to run when Fudgeand Umbridge came to get him. So now she did not know where he was, and she had no way of contacting him. How was she supposed to tell him that she wasthree months pregnant with his child?
"Oh Albus, where are you?"
Just then, Minerva heard a commotion outside her window. What she sawappalled her. Dolores Umbridge and three others whom she could not identifywere heading toward Hagrid's hut with wands drawn.
"What on earth does she think she is doing?!"
Minerva rushed down the stairs as fast as she could. When she got down there, she could hear the fighting.
"Stop it! I said stop! Leave him alone! He has done nothing to warrant suchtreatment!"
The next few moments seemed to go by in slow motion. She heard four voicesyell "Stupify!" Minerva didn't even have time to react as all four of thespells hit her straight in the chest. She felt like her whole body was on fire as she fell unconscious. With that, Umbridge and her three partnersretreated into the woods. Poppy, seeing what had happened, sent Hooch to goFloo St. Mungo's and tell them what had happened.
The Mungo's team worked all night to stabilize Minerva. When morning came,they were sure she would make a full recovery.
"Well, how is she?"
"She is stabilized. It was touch-and-go for a while, but she will be fine. Itis a real miracle that she is alive. She took four stunners straight in thechest at her age."
"Can I see her?"
"Are you a relation? Because only family can see patients."
"I am her husband - I think that counts, does it not?"
"Ah. Yes, then, go right in."
"Thank you."
When Albus walked into the room, he was shocked at the sight before him.Minerva was waking up. He ran to her side and took hold of her hand and kissed it.
"Albus? Is it really you?"
"Yes my dear, it is. I was so worried about you. I promise I will never leaveyou again. I love you so much."
"Oh Albus, I love you too. Albus, there is something I need to tell you.Before I was hit, I found out that I wascarrying our child."
Albus just stared at his wife for awhile before he reacted.
"Are you sure, tabby?"
"Yes Albus, I am positive. But now I am afraid that the baby might not havesurvived."
As these words left her mouth, she started to cry.
"Oh, don't cry, tabby. It is okay. How about you rest, and I will go find thedoctor, and we will see what is going on. Okay?"
"Okay darling, but hurry back."
With that, Albus went to find the doctor.
