Sasuke sits in a heap on the ground and listens to Naruto's voice. "I love you," Naruto begs, but Sasuke's been there before, had heard the same words coming from Itachi - Sasuke had felt love, felt heartbreak, and had known betrayal all too well.
"Sasuke," Naruto whispers, and he knows Sasuke hears him because he sees the shiver run up his back - feels it, on his own skin. "Sasuke," he says again, "trust me."
Naruto approaches him slowly, and Sasuke's breathing hitches with every step. It's still dark - the world doesn't light up as fast as it did the first time, when he had fallen for Itachi's lies. This time, it's almost different - the brightness seeps in gradually, sinking into Sasuke, melting and dripping endlessly out of Naruto and pulling them together. Sasuke doesn't feel encompassed by Naruto, doesn't drown in him the way he did Itachi - he doesn't feel scared, and yet, Sasuke's heart beats as fast as a drum.
Naruto's touch feels like a taste of heaven. It passes by Sasuke's skin gently, and in a flash it's gone. Then all far too soon, Sasuke's lips feel wet and moistened, and Naruto touches for barely a moment, pecks as lightly as a feather, and vanishes so fast that Sasuke's certain he must have dreamt it.
Naruto catches Sasuke with the tip of his fingers, stroking and holding as softly as if he was afraid of marking Sasuke's perfect skin. Their fingers intertwine, and now Sasuke can feel Naruto's essence completely surround him, and he basks in it. He finds his voice, "you're-" he starts - but then looses it again when Naruto presses - so sudden and brief that Sasuke barely registers it happening - but it does, and Naruto is warm against him, and all too beautiful.
Sasuke moans, the sound deep and pleasure, and Naruto thinks, if only he could listen to it forever - if Sasuke would only trust him, if only Sasuke would let himself be loved.
Sasuke's nails are sharp against Naruto's back, digging in painfully, and it hurts, but Naruto is used to it. This is the only way Sasukes loves - the only way he can. He keeps his guard up enough to push away if Naruto strays, ready to break apart if any one movement is too much for comfort.
There are hot salty tears against Sasuke's neck, and Sasuke gasps at the feel of them pricking his skin. "Dobe-" he calls, and Naruto buries himself deeper into Sasuke's skin and sobs.
Naruto wants to yell it out - I love you, Sasuke - he wants to scream it to the world, to whisper it into Sasuke's being, to embark him with it. Instead, he cries, letting his wetness seep into Sasuke's essences, letting their musk mix together and pieces of each other blend into something new - he wants their colours to bleed together, he wants them to join together and become something more.
Naruto fears that his heart would break with the weight of the love he harbors, knowing that if he unleashes it, Sasuke will not accept it. I still love you, Naruto thinks, and his heart clenches with it, but he doesn't dare breathe it out loud.
