The sulfrous smell of smoke.
The feeling of hot ash on your skin.
And the towering, flickering flames.
The other Titans were helping the residents of this part of the city evacuate. Warm hearted fools.
But no worse then Robin.
Slade dashed hrough the falling detrius, cracked mask still partly on his face, black, spiky hair visible.
Robin.......
Robin.....
Robin was in danger. The titans had no idea he'd been hurt-no idea that he was about to die.
Just that Slade had had no idea.
Who Robin was....
"WHY?!" screamed Robin as the two dueled. Slade had commited Arson on an entire city block when the Titans had arrived back home from Tokyo.
"WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS COMING BACK TO HAUNT ME?!" Robin smashed his fist into Shredder's mask.
Slade's eyes narrowed with malicious enjoyment.
"Well, now, my young Titan-" his fist swung forewards-
And met Robin's face.
With a cry of pain, Robin fell back-
And the mask slipped off-
just as Slade's cracked from impact-
and clattered to the floor.
Slade staggered back. Robin lay motionless in front of him.
Might as well see who he really, truly was. The helpless little child couldn't resist.
Slade glided over, seized Robin's hand and forced him onto his back-
To see his son's face.
