Dear Santa,
I don't know if you are really real or not. Honestly, with all the stuff I've found out is real over the past seven years, you can't blame me for wondering, but that doesn't matter. I just really need to vent. You see, a lot of my friends have died lately. Fred Weasley, Remus Lupin, Tonks, Dumbledore, Sirius...It just hurts so bad that I wasn't able to save them. Its not fair really. I've come so close to death so many times, but them, they're the ones who died....
So, Santa, I know you get a lot of requests at this time of year; toys and broomsticks and books, but I don't want any of that. What I want more than anything else in the world is a Christmas with all of us, all of my friends, all of my family, everyone together for one last time. I want to know that they will be okay, to let them know that I will be okay...even though I really don't know that. I want to hug them and speak to them and hear them laugh at some stupid joke that the twins or the marauders or maybe even the lot of them have played. I want Ted to spend his first Christmas with his parents even if he won't have them for the rest. It breaks my heart to look at my little godson and know that he will never know what wonderful people his parents were. People will tell him of course, but it won't ever be able to make up for them being gone. I know. I've experienced it. I go to see him sometimes, and I cry. He looks so much like them. His appearance changes all the time of course. He is a metamorphmagus like his mommy, but the eyes...the eyes never change; amber like his daddy's, the one wolf trait that he inherited. I look at those eyes and cry that he will never know the man who gave him them...
So Santa, please, if you are real, could you just do this one thing. I've never asked for anything before, and I never will again. Just give me one day with those I love. That is all I want for Christmas.
