He stood in the moonlight, the morning sun making it's way over the far away mountains. He had done this many times before. He was waiting. Waiting for her. Though he knew that this would never be. "Out of mind, out of sight." he thought to himself. But he didn't want to let go.

A cool breeze crept it's way around him and he pulled his coat tighter. He looked up, the last of the moonlight spilled before him. Someone was there. Neither of them moved as she whispered. The soft breeze carried her words to him. it made him shake, chilled, yet warmed at him at the same time. Memories of his past flooded his mind, blurring together. All at once it was like someone had taken a broom and swept away all that had clouded his mind. All thoughts faded, except for one of her. It was almost as if she touched him. But she hadn't, for she never moved from her spot in the moonlight.

An invisible war raged between them, in an instant it had ended. "Is it possible," he thought as he watched her. "That she could have heard every unspoken word?" His heart was racing. As he stared at her he suddenly realized that he had never lost her, for he never let her go.

The sun shone brightly down upon him. He stood staring at the spot where she had stood only moments before, hoping that she would materialize before him.
