Thorns

"We're Breathless!"
Her head throbbed and she felt dizzy. She felt a continuous, dull pain in her lower stomach and the back of her upper legs. Her eyelids felt heavy and her body felt weak. She felt tired. She felt hungry. Tanukineiri Hato shoved what she felt away as she gave her opponents a determined look. "We are Toki! Time to spell battle!"
Hinamatsuri Nimono stood beside her with a determined expression. "Clock tower! Turn the hands of fate!"
Ai cast the spell, "Defend!", before Midori.
Tanukineiri cast the spell, "Mirror! Reflect time!"
Ai cast the spell, "Deflect!"
Tanukineiri placed herself in front of Hinamatsuri. "No!" When the spell hit her body, she screamed. Afterwards, she fell onto her knees. She breathed heavily.
Midori had been about to cast another spell, but Ai shook her head and told him, "Hold on. Something's wrong with Tanukineiri. It's not fair to spell battle if everyone isn't at the best."
He nodded. "Right."
Ai and Midori approached Tanukineiri and Hinamatsuri. "This spell battle ends at a draw." She lowered herself towards Tanukineiri. "Are you all right?"
She sounded annoyed as she said, "I know what it is." Midori is a boy. Ritsuka is a boy. Soubi is a boy. Kio is a boy. They shouldn't know. Ai is a girl…but…I feel she shouldn't know. Ai may figure it out on her own and so may the others. Hinamatsuri knows what it is.
"I know what's wrong. It's nothing serious." He grinned and winked. "In fact, it's normal."
She covered her face with her hands. "Ah! Hinamatsuri! Why'd you spill the beans on me?"
"They're worried."
Ai laughed. "Oh, I get it." It's her period.
Midori chuckled. "Ah, I get it, too." It happens to females at some point. I don't know if it's already happened to Ai.
Tanukineiri groaned. "I swear. This is like a bunch of thorns."
"Well, get used to it, sister. It's a part of a woman's life cycle."
Tanukineiri groaned again. "I so hate this."
"It may be painful, but you took a step towards growing up a little."
Tanukineiri sighed. "Ai. I didn't 'grow up a little' right away. At some point, my period seemed to hardly last a week and it seemed to hardly come at all and it seemed to hardly flow at all."
"Why? Did something happen?"
"I had been taken off a medicine called Ridilin. I, now, take Clinodine and Concerta. I had been called and told cruel things at school and online. An evil pervert messed with my head, stole my first kiss from my lips, and touched my breasts. I hardly ate and I hardly drank. I messed up on my medicine. I cried a lot. I had dark thoughts."
"Well, you do have huge breasts."
She smacked Midori. "Perverted jerk!"
"I apologize."
She's been hurt. There's a lot left to heal. She's got to mature a lot more, too.
"I've got someone who loves me for myself and doesn't scorn me for my mistakes. Also, I'm loved by my friends and family. I no longer feel scared, lost, and alone. I no longer feel cold. I no longer see a dark world."
Hikari Maiden: Toki is time. Ai is love. Midori is green.
