A young woman sits all alone on a window sill, looking at the stars- basking in the moonlight. Her bruised forehead leans on the cool window glass, as she lets out a small sigh- her sad Spanish eyes leaking tears.
Love was a former owner,
But quiet is renting our house
He was late…again. It was third time this month and she knew what him being late meant. And it never was good for her, or the secret she was carrying. 23 year old, Gabriella Montez pulled her tired, bruised body from the window knowing it would go better if she pretended to be asleep. Maybe he would fall asleep and she could do what she had to peacefully.
Her plan, however, was shattered when Troy stumbled through the door to their vast condo abruptly. He was obviously drunk- his smell bordering between whiskey and some feminine perfume…one foreign from anything she owned.
She knew what that meant- they had the NBA game.
"Why are you looking at me like that? Like you've been caught doing something you shouldn't be doing in my house? Who have you been with, you slut?"
It
seizes my lips from speaking, but forms a sarcastic smile
Suspense
now raised one of your eyebrows
You ask me if there's someone else
Gabriella made up her mind from the moment he stepped through the door. No more…she had had enough.
"I'm leaving you Troy." she said simply. She gestured to the suitcases by the door. She had been debating on leaving for weeks.
"You're leaving me for someone else?" he asked angrily.
"You could say that." she said, a ghost of a smile gracing her once flawless features.
I
replied yes, hell yes
You asked me if it's another man, I said
no
You laughed and say is it a woman, I say yeah
Surprisingly
you asked for honey's name
"Who is it? What's his name?" he demanded, his hands curling into fists.
"It's not a he." she said confidently.
"You're leaving me for a woman?" he said suddenly grinning. He chuckled darkly. "My whore of a wife is leaving me to be a lesbian. Great. Just Fantastic! Who is it? Give me the bitch's name." he said madly.
Gabriella smirked.
"Me. Gabriella Montez. I'm leaving you for me. And I'm not looking back, Troy."
She said while nearing the steps.
And
her name is me,
And she loves me more than you'll ever know
And
I finally see that loving you and loving me
Just don't seem to
work at all
So patiently, she's waiting on me to tell you
That
she needs love
And to choose between you two, boy you know
If I
have to choose, I choose me
"I'll find you…I'll hunt you down. In fact- you won't make it out of here." he said darkly staring her down. Her smirked stayed on her face.
"If you touch me again- I'll go to the press, I'll show them. You know I have a lot to show. Our friends will back me up-the only reason they haven't went public with it was because I was protecting you. But now I don't know why I even bothered. You'll lose everything…not just me. Now, if you don't excuse me, Taylor is waiting me for outside."
As she walked by him, he grabbed her arm roughly and slammed her into the wall. She stared up at him defiantly- reminding him of everything she just said. He let go of her quickly as she shrugged out of his grasp and headed towards the door.
And
she told me to tell you to never to hurt me again
Cuz if you
haven't heard she's a bad chick
Even though I haven't been, no
Yet
and still you try and test me by raisin' an angry hand
Put it
down, put it down
I'm
leavin don't try and stop me, (no)
I'm late and she is waiting,
(yes)
My love for me is too much so I can't stay
Troy collapsed to the ground.
"Please. I'm sorry, just don't leave." he said in his pathetic tone. And something in Gabriella almost fell for it, but more of her was resolved to save her. She had heard those pitiful cries from him before- after every beating, every time she caught him cheating, every time he had broken her spirit in some way. She had forgiven him every time. But not this time.
Cuz
she's actually formin' a threesome
And I'm happy that I can join
them, and
There names are me, myself and I
She kept her head high, and as promised…never looked back as she slammed the door closed. Once outside, Taylor hugged her and helped her put her suitcases in the car.
"Did you tell him about the baby?", she asked. Gabriella shook her head and she absentmindedly rubbed her two month pregnant belly.
"It wouldn't have been safe for her", she said.
"How do you know it's a girl…its way too early to tell."
"I just know. She's strong- I have a feeling she can get through anything, just like me.", she said as she sat down in the car.
Taylor sighed sadly and a nodded.
Together they drove off… away from the darkness.
She's
waiting on me to tell you that she needs love,
Gotta choose
between you two, and you know
And if I have to choose,
I choose
me, me, I gotta go with me
