Deconstruction
- Hermione Granger -
There is something strangely addictive about being with a person you don't deserve, and Hermione knows she doesn't deserve Minerva.
She knows what they say about her – about her and Min – that Hermione idolises her; that Minerva is sweet and indulgent and flattered; that it'll all end in tears. They say it's hero-worship, but Hermione knows better. She has never seen Minerva as a hero.
True, she fought bravely and suffered long, but Min would be the first to tell you that she's no hero. She was simply protecting her students, defending her ideals, fighting for a world that should always have been. One cannot be a hero merely for doing something that, to them, is as natural as breathing.
And that is why Hermione loves her.
