~Jimmy P.O.V.~

Hello, my name is Jimmy, I am 18 years old and I live in New Bark Town of the Johto region. You, reader, might know me from a certain anime I'm supposedly apart of, I don't buy that though. I have two very good friends, their names are Vincent, and Marina. I'll start talking about Vincent first, then I'll talk about Marina.

Vincent has been my friend for the longest time, he has a good sense of humor, and he has grown to be an excellent trainer, he and I often have battles to establish the superior force, but the result never stays the same, you never know who is going to win.

Marina is a person you could truly trust with anything, she is also one of my closest friends as well. She and I both competed in the Silver Conference in the same year but neither of us won. When contests were introduced into the Johto region, she immediately fell in love with them and it didn't take long for her to become a top coordinator.

And before you ask, yes, I do have a crush on her.

But enough of that, what's important right now is that I'm sleeping, can you blame a guy? I was getting my valuable rest until…

"Jimmy, it's time to wake up."

I know that voice from anywhere

I woke up with a start and turned to the direction of the voice, and sure enough, Marina was looking back at me with her light blue eyes, standing next to me bed. I smiled at her.

"Good morning to you as well, mind telling me why you are the one waking me up?" I asked.

The blue-haired girl giggled, "It was Vincent's idea!"

Vincent that old joker, can he not leave a person alone? I motioned for Marina to cover her ears before I yelled, "VINCENT! WHAT DID I EVER DO TO DESERVE BEING AWOKEN THIS EARLY IN THE MORNING?"

Vincent entered the room with a smirk on, "I just wanted to have an early start, that's all"

"I definitely don't believe you." I answered back.

"That's fine." He said.

I rolled my eyes before looking at my alarm clock. It read 6:23 AM, so I got up from the comfortable full-size bed and yawned before turning back to my two best friends

"Alright, I'm going to get dressed. Could you two leave now?"

Vincent laughed, "Marina can leave, but I have to make sure you don't fall back asleep. Let's be real here Jimmy, nobody should let you get dressed this early without supervision."

I rolled my eyes again, "I'm NOT a morning person, can you blame me?"

Vincent laughed again, "OK, I'll leave, but if you don't come downstairs within 10 minutes, then we are eating breakfast without you."

And with that, he left.

I sighed and went back to getting dressed. Gah! Vincent sounded like my mom. He thinks he can wake me up early, supervise me while I'm getting dressed, and even threaten to eat breakfast without me. He may be one of my best friends, but he can really be a pain sometimes.

I eventually finished getting dressed and headed downstairs. I caught a whiff of what Mom was making for breakfast. Waffles, my favorite breakfast food. I sat down at the table next to Marina and began discussing plans for today.

"So, guys, what do you want to do? We have been spending the last month in New Bark town with nothing to do but hang out with each other." I stated as I took a bite of my waffle.

Vincent nodded at my comment, "True. It's so boring here, I wish we could be 10 again and travel around Johto like we used to."

Marina decided to make a suggestion, "Why don't we turn on the TV and see if there is anything going on within the region?"

"It's worth a shot." Vincent said.

I turned on the TV with our remote, most channels were about the weather, upcoming contests, the Pokémon league, and other whatnot. Eventually, we saw a news channel reporting on some crisis in Goldenrod city. We stayed on this channel and listened intently.

"Yes, it seems Team Rocket activity is higher than ever. With 5 attacks occurring in this week only, it is unknown how long they will continue for, or what the organization's goal is." A reporter said.

The reporter walked over to Whitney, the Gym Leader of the city and asked her, "Whitney, did you ever think that a catastrophic event would happen in your hometown?"

Whitney replied with tears in her eyes, "I-I couldn't I-I-Imagine that T-Team Rocket would target us. W-We had nothing t-they would have valued b-but they came anyway. I-I don't know how m-many lives were lost, but this… is just cruel of someone to bomb a b-building with hundreds of p-people inside. Just thinking about this makes me feel g-guilty that I was unable t-to do anything."

I turned to my two friends. Vincent looked like he wanted to punch someone after hearing about Team Rocket's cruelty. Marina had tears in her eyes similar to Whitney, this is the kind of thing that would make her sad, hearing about people's suffering just because of another's heartlessness. I clenched my fist, we had dealt with those crooks before, they were bad but, what they just did was worse than anything I'd expect them to do. I had to put a stop to them- no, WE had to put a stop to their crimes. That is exactly what we would do, we would travel across Johto taking out Team Rocket wherever we went. This was my mission now, this is what I wanted to do.

"I can't let them keep doing this." I began. My two friends turned to me, intrigued on what I was about to say.

"It would only make me feel worse if we just stood here without doing anything about it. Who knows what they'll do next? They could come here and wipe New Bark Town off the map. I can't stand here and watch, not anymore. I want Team Rocket gone, forever." I spoke, feeling the power of my own words.

I turned to my two best friends, who were looking at me with shock. I smiled at them, "If you want to come with me and save Johto, it might be the excitement we're looking for."

Both of them stood up and agreed.

Marina stated, "I believe we are more than capable of taking those crooks down, we defeated them before, and with a little bit of training and help, we could possibly disperse the whole organization!"

Vincent didn't say anything, but he had the same determined look in his eyes.

I gave them a smile, "Let's do this!"

2 Hours later…

Everyone was packed and we met up at the front door of my house. We were about to head out but then Marina suggested, "Why don't you to have a battle? We are going to need to keep our skills up when we face Team Rocket, and…"

Vincent finished her sentence for her, "…Battling is the best form of training."

I gave Vincent a confident smirk, "So, are you up for it."

Vincent replied with the same expression on his face, "Always."

We walked to a nearby field and took our respective battle positions and Marina assumed the role of referee.

Marina spoke, "This will be a one on one Pokémon battle with no substitutions! Trainers, reveal your Pokémon!"

I released a Pokeball, "Go Cloyster!"

(I know he doesn't have one in the anime but we only know two of his Pokémon in the anime so I picked the rest of his team)

Vincent smirked, "Go Golduck!"

My ball revealed a large oyster-looking creature with a face inside of its shell, known as Cloyster. Vincent's revealed a blue, humanoid, duck-creature known as Golduck.

"Battle, Begin!"

"Cloyster, start up off with Tri attack!" I commanded to his Pokémon.

The Bivalve Pokémon unleashed a flurry of 3 separate attacks at the blue duck.

"Golduck, dodge it and retaliate with Psybeam!"

"Dodge it Cloyster!"

Golduck nimbly dodged the Tri attack and fired a pink and white beam at Cloyster, who dodged it like Golduck had. Both Pokémon looked at each other with confidence.

And so, the battle dragged on, it never seemed to favor one person as they were usually neck-in-neck. Eventually the battle suddenly started to favor Vincent.

"Golduck! Use Hydro pump while he's confused"

Suddenly, a wave of water shot from Golduck's mouth and hit Cloyster. The Bivalve Pokémon was confused after being hit by a Psybeam moments before.

"Oh no you don't! Cloyster, Hyper Beam quick!"

Cloyster, being well-trained, charged up very quickly and fired at the Duck Pokémon, who got hit, taking massive damage.

"Nice work Jimmy! But here comes my secret weapon." Vincent commented the attack before commanding Golduck, "Disable."

My smile instantly turned into a frown, I realized Hyper Beam would be useless until the battle is over.

Vincent smirked confidently, "Golduck, get close to it!"

The action confused me, but I already had a plan in mind. Golduck got into close proximity of the Bivalve Pokémon and listened out for its trainer's commands.

"Golduck, use Blizzard!"

"Cloyster, use Poison Jab and get out of there!"

As the Blue Duck was about to use Blizzard, my Cloyster managed to hit it with poison Jab and attempted to escape before Golduck used Blizzard. Vincent knew that Blizzard could easily be dodged, so he tried to get in close so it would hit. Unfortunately for him, I saw that coming and came up with a counter-attack.

However, Cloyster didn't escape on time and got hit with the Ice type move, being an Ice type, Cloyster wasn't affected that much, but it still brought it to low hp. Both Pokémon were close to fainting and me and Vincent both knew we had to end it soon.

"Psybeam! Full power!", Vincent shouted.

"Counter with Ice beam!" I shouted, even though I knew it wouldn't be very effective.

Both moves collided and created an explosion, which caused smoke to cover the battlefield. When it cleared, both Pokémon were still standing. It seems they both pulled through the explosion.

Then, some purple bubbles emitted from Golduck which caused it to fall to the ground with swirls in its eyes.

Marina exclaimed, "Golduck is unable to battle, which means the victory goes to Cloyster and Jimmy!"

I walked up to Cloyster and placed my hand on its shell, "You fought well, and we won the battle, thank you Cloyster." I said as I returned it to its pokeball.

Vincent walked up to Golduck, "You fought valiantly Golduck, take a nice rest."

We both walked up to each other shook hands, "Great battle Vincent."

He smiled, "I agree, but then again, you only won because you poisoned Golduck." He joked.

I smirked at him, "Exactly."

Marina ran up to us, "That was an amazing battle you two." She spoke cheerfully."

I blushed slightly before saying, "I-It was nothing."

Vincent took notice of me blushing and whispered to me, "She certainly thought it was something."

That made me turn even more red, "V-Vincent!" I shouted.

Marina was left confused by the two boys' antics and shook her head at us.

"I swear, what am I going to do with you two?" She whispered loud enough so I could hear, but I didn't answer.

And so, we began our journey across Johto to take down Team Rocket, we knew there would be challenges, but as long as we had each other, we would get through them.

This fanfiction is going to be based on the adventure, not romance, so if you don't like who ends up with who, deal with it, because a fanfiction is about the story, not the pairings.

If I actually follow through with this, there will be a total of 20 main characters
