Darkness: A Xenosaga Story"Father, why is Albedo able to regenerate himself and I'm not? I mean I am his brother!"
"Rubedo, Albedo has no heart. It is imbedded in you and thus, he cannot die. Your brother will then regenerate every time he is supposed to die due to his limbs."
To Rubedo's dismay, this mean't that he had 2 hearts and if he were to die, the surely Albedo would die too.
Hours Later. . .
"Hey Albedo! Wait up!" Rubedo called to his brother. "Hey Nigredo."
"What's up Rubedo? Are we going on another practice mission?" Nigredo asked.
"After all, your always the first to know!"
"That's because he's our leader moron!" Albedo exclaimed to Nigredo.
"That's right, I am the leader. But no, we're not going on another practice mission. This time it's the real thing!"
"What?" Albedo and Nigredo yelled at the same time.
"Yeah, 'bout time huh?" Rubedo said. "We set out tomorrow okay. Go and let everyone know that."
The Next Day. . .
Together, Albedo, Nigredo, and Rubedo set out to the place on Miltia where they were to destroy the virus known as U-DO. "Father, why are you coming with us?" Rubedo asked.
"I will instruct you on what to do from the outside of the building. And remember, no matter what happens do not break the link."
"Okay." Rubedo replied. From then on, they were silent. Once they reached the top floor of the building in Miltia, Joachim Mizrahi anoonouced that this was where they were supposed to go in and that he'd await their return.
Rubedo and the others created a link that only Rubedo would be able to break.
"I'm scared Rubedo." Albedo cried. "Why do we have to do this?"
"We want to save the world don't we. And stop whinning!" Rubedo replied. Then, all of a sudden, Rubedo felt the pressence of U-DO.
NO! This is a super virus! If I don't break the link it will turn us all viral!
"I'm breaking the link!" Rubedo yelled.
"You can't! I won't let you! We need to save everyone even if it's at our own expense." Rubedo was shocked when he heard these words coming from Albedo's mouth.
"You idiot Albedo! If I don't break the link then we will end up killing everyone anyways!" And with that the link was broken.
Then the most beautiful, yet terrific, song they had ever heard played. The Song of Nephilim played. Rubedo and Nigredo covered their ears in pain but it was different for Albedo. The song was driving him mad. He started laughing maniacally. Then Rubedo and Nigredo fainted and when they woke, they were in a totally new place. And there was no sign of Albedo anywhere. Rubedo knewthat Albedo was still alive somewhere because he had both hearts. Though he noticed one was now tainted with darkness. . .
