**Author's Note: I have been obsessed with Slenderman lately and I decided to make a free verse poem about him since I need one for my English class. Hope you enjoy! (:
Wake Up
Falling into a never-ending abyss
It feels as if I've been falling forever
But where is my destination?
I don't wish to know, this feeling like a nightmare
Wake up!
I tell myself
Only nothing happens
Suddenly I have stopped falling
Landing only in a place
Which happens to send chills up and down my spine
A forest materializes beneath my feet
A sound as brutal as nails on a chalkboard forces my body to cringe
It happens to come from behind me
Wake up!
I tell myself
I slowly look up once the sound stops
As I see a tall thin man with no face with arms extended towards me
His arms being so long that they can almost touch me
They seem to have a hypnotizing effect, begging me to walk into them
Wake up!
I tell myself
My feet shuffle forward into his arms without my consent
I watch in horror as I move closer
Closer to my worst nightmare and closer to my death
Doing the only thing I can do
I close my eyes and scream
Wake up!
I tell myself
And suddenly my eyes are open
In pure darkness
The moon shining into what little part of my window isn't being blocked
I shoot up as the smell of smoke alarms me
Fire is surrounding my bed and casting dancing shadows on my wall
As well as the man in the black suit and no face
He stands at my window, blocking what moonlight protected me
Go to sleep!
I tell myself
As the flames engulf my bed
As well as my body
