Spoilers: KLG2

It was only hours after their return with the Arrow, but she would go to the surface while the search for the tomb that would point them towards Earth continued. As she touched down she was filled with trepidation. He was there. She wondered how he would greet her; their last words to each other had been less than genial.

As she opened the door, she could see him. On the far side of the landing field, his form gilded by the sun, looking for all the universe like the god that was his call-sign. Even at this distance, the surprise on his face was clear to her. I wonder if he was even told I was back, part of her mind mused, even as her legs broke into a run.

He met her halfway. Her arms and legs closed around him as he picked her up and spun her in a circle, his face pressed into her neck. "Kara, Kara," he chanted, over and over. Oh how she had been longing to hear that ever since the moment she realized it was his arms she ached to be in, no other. Even as his twirling slowed, setting her gently back on her feet, she remained pressed against him. It no longer mattered that they were standing on a world that had not known human footfalls for centuries, in an overgrown field among the ruins. He was where he belonged, in her arms, and she - was home.
