"N-neji onii-san... p-please d-don't," she barely sobbed out.
He heartlessly glared at her, wanting to grind her to little pieces under his heel, and resisted the urge. He spoke quietly and dangerously, "It's too late for that now," and reached out slowly for his kunai.
Hinata, shaking violently, began to edge away with a fearful look in her cornered-doe eyes, but with his Byakugan, she knew she couldn't leave without his knowing. And just as she knew it would happen, he warned her coolly, "Move any further, and those shuriken piercing the nearby ground will go through your skin and cause you intense pain."
"N-neji o-onii-san... w-why...? What ha-have I do-done.. please, N-neji-sama..."
"Goodbye," he croaked cruelly, looking into her pale face, her overlarge eyes swimming with tears, her trembling lips--
He couldn't do it.. he just couldn't. He would have lowered the kunai, he told himself, if it hadn't been for that one thing whispering in his ear. Enough, the voice had whispered, argued with him. Do it now! This is your chance to show your power!
And in that one evil moment, he brought the kunai down in anger and watched his own family member's tears mingle with her blood.
Blood. He dipped his fingers into her blood, lifted his fingers slowly, and watched the redness drip to the floor little by little. What have I done?
"I'm sorry, Hinata-sama," he whispered quietly, as the last bit of life left her questioning face, with an expression that would haunt the Hyuuga genius for the rest of his life.
Then.. he cried, feeling weak and terrible and ashamed all at once.
A/N: I know, what the heck? I just.. thought of this yesterday while sleeping, had nightmares about it, woke up and it was still nagging me, so.. here it is. May such things never bother me again. I think I caught a cold crying in the middle of the night during... that end part... ;;
Sorry to all Hinata and Neji lovers who feel like I HAVE killed off their character or have made their character into villains... I like both characters too; in fact they're my two favorite characters. So... sorry.
