Chapter 1- Why?
Sora laid on her bed staring at the ceiling. Like usual she began to think of Tai. Tai was her best friend for as long as she could remember. She sighed. Highschool had been particularly bad for her. It wasn't that she was unpopular, it was just...
Tear's began to form in her eyes. Tai was one of the most popular boys in school. There were so many girls that liked him, all of them looked better than her. Sora sat up, wiped the tears from her eyes and began to type on her computer. She was working on a love letter to Tai. She had written the letter months ago, when she first started to develop feelings for him. She always would call get scared and decide not to send it. Even though she loved him, she knew he would never return her feelings.
"Sora" her mom called. "Yeah mom, I'm in my room" Sora responded. "Sora I know your Spring Break begins in two days (It's Wednesday now) but I need you to come with my to my business meeting in Tokyo". "Tokyo!" she shouted, "That's so far away! I won't be able to do anything with my friends" "Sora" her mom said "I'm sorry, there's just nowhere else you can go" "Mom! Why do you have to go!" "Sora, this could be a huge deal for my store, it might help solve some of our money problems"
Sora said nothing; tears welled up in her eyes. She began to walk out the door.
"Where are you going Sora?" her mom asked
"To Tai's!" Sora shouted slamming the door.
Sora walked up the stairs of the apartment building to Tai's apartment. She knocked on the door. Tai's little sister Kari answered it.
"Sora! You're crying! What's wrong?"
"Is Tai home?"
"Sorry, he has soccer practice" Kari said
"Oh" Sora said walking away.
"Sora! Come on inside. He'll be home soon"
"No that's ok" Sora said, walking away.
After about 15 minutes she arrived at their spot. Her and Tai found it when they were little. It was a park near an abandoned church. She sat on one of the swings and began to think. Tai, what would you do if I asked you out? You probably freak out, tell me that there's no way a popular guy like you could ever go out with a loser like me.
"Sora!" a familiar voice called.
"Tai" Sora said turning around. "How'd you know I was here?"
"Where else would you go? Kari said you came by and your mom said you weren't home so there was only one place you could go. So what's wrong?"
"My whole life" Sora muttered.
"Oh, come on Sora it can't be that bad"
"Tai my moms making me go on some business trip with her during spring break!"
"So?"
"I didn't want to spend a whole break with my mom, I wanted to spend time with my friends" Especially you
"How bout this Sor, you spend your spring break at my house. My mom won't mind"
"You sure Tai?"
"Of course. That's what friends are for"
"Now we just gotta convince my mom"
Sora shivered. Without saying anything Tai took off his jacket and gave it to her.
"Thanks" she said
"Your welcome. Come on Sora it's getting cold"
They walked for a while, making small talk. When they got to Sora's house Sora's mom was standing outside waiting.
"Sora Takenoichi get your ass in this house right now".
