A/n I don't own Pokemon. In memory of all those grunts I beat in firered, yellow, silver, and soulsilver.

What am I to you?

Just another face, another person in a place?

Don't I have a story to tell?

Why did no one help me when I fell?

You think of yourself as the best.

Your cruelty overwhelms us, Pest.

You're walking slowly by,

Watching, proud, you let us die.

You know what would happen if we lose.

You grin with contempt, say "Good for you."

Punishment won't be held back.

Even a child won't cut us some slack.

Why won't the hero help us?

Why won't the hero save us?

Do you think we have a choice?

We aren't even allowed a voice.

We say what they want us to say.

In fear, we must obey.

They have our families locked away,

They've gotten to us, so we must join the fray.

Every time you win

It is us that you condemn.

Even if you beat our boss,

It isn't him that pains at the loss.

Who do you think must pay the price

For shortcomings and things of 'vice'?

We are punished, we're to blame,

And mercilessly put to shame.

Please, take us from this, help us please.

Free us from this, answer our pleas.

Don't leave us here, here to die.

Should've figured you'd cast a blind eye . . .

I hope you remember us some day,

And know what price you had us pay.
