Author Notes: This is they extended version of How Do You Like Me Know? from my Music Shuffle Challenge, Radio. I plan on going back and extending a few of the oneshots, and I plan or writing a few more in my spare time. I may or may not continue with this one. It depends on the kind of response I get from it.
Jason wasn't know for his amazingly good looks, or his intelligent conversations like the other member of Connect 3, But that didn't stop Peggy Dupree from striking up a conversation with him after The Final Jam Jam Session. She thought he had a great sense of humor, and a very charming personality.
She approached him while Nate and Shane were laughing over an inside joke. He stood off to the side, carefully placing his guitar into its solid case.
He looked up, and gave her a genuine smile. "You're Margret, right?"
"Yes, but most people call me Peggy."
"I like the name Margret, it makes you seem older. More mature."
"Thank you." She couldn't help but blush as she shook his hand.
"My name is Jason."'
"I know."
She proposed that they go and take a walk around the lake, and try to find rare birds. Jason knew for a fact that only common finches and sparrows lived near camp this time of year, but he chose to play along. Plus Shane and Nate would never notice he had slipped off.
"Have you ever seen a Cisticola?" She asked.
"No." Jason sighed. "They live in Kenya. Maybe we could go on tour there one year."
"Where have you been?" Margret unconsciously walked closer to the oldest member of Connect 3.
"All over the US, London, Germany, and Switzerland."
"Wow."
Their conversation quickly changed from birds to music. They talked of their influences, who they listened to as kids, and who they really didn't like.
As the night wore on and darkness began to set they began to discuss their interests other than music. Margret and Jason became fast friends. They both enjoyed singing, movies, and being outside. She felt that they had a very strong connection, and for once in her life she felt as if someone wanted to talk to the real her, not Tess Tyler's back up singer.
Jason walked her back to the cabin that she shared with Tess. He grabbed her hand as she tuned to leave and placed a kiss upon it.
"I really enjoyed talking to you tonight Margret. Maybe we can do it again?"
Margret placed a chaste kiss on his cheek and turned towards her door. "Of course. You know where to find me."
When Jason came running into his cabin after spending the entire evening by the lake talking with a lovely girl Shane thought he had was exaggerating. But as Jason went on and on about this amazing girl, he couldn't help but smile. His best friend was finally going to see what he had been dealing with for the entire summer. Jason had a crush on Peggy Dupree.
