"Carlisle, there's something wrong with me!" I heard him dash up the stairwell, and I turned to face him as his head popped in the doorway.
"What's the matter Jasper?"
"I fell asleep."
He blinked once. "Huh." He muttered, and started to walk away.
"But I'm confused!!" Next thing I knew, a shoe had flown into my face
"Shut up Jasper, Daddy has work to do."
"Daddy's a meanie!" I heard Emmett fall off his chair. "What, would you like it when a stiletto crashes into your head!?" He cracked up even more. I smirked, satisfied.
"I'm scared, my mute son is actually talking." I heard Carlisle murmur sarcastically in the other room. I pulled myself out of bed and went downstairs.
"Hey Bells, Edward, Em."
"Morning Jazz." Bella smiled, her arms draped around her husband's neck, who nodded to acknowledge my presence. I walked over to the couch where Ness was playing and scooped her up. We sat in silence, communicating without noise, which suited the two of us best. She began to plait my hair. It doesn't bring the utmost joy in knowing that my hair is one of my niece's favourite toys, but I don't mind it that much. Rose came down and greeted Renesmee, attempting to distract her. I turned to face her. She was fresh out of bed.
"Rose, you look like a frazzled banshee." She shot me a glare that could kill a thousand men. "What, Nessie thought of it." I said, jabbing a finger at the child. "NO!" exclaimed my niece, pulling my hair sharply. "Ow, the goal is not to hurt your uncle."
"Good girl, Renesmeeā¦" murmured Rose.
"You're just jealous." I said, doing my best impression of a preppy girl and giving my hair a little toss. She stormed away; ha, victory for me!
