Holden closed her eyes for a moment as she rested back against the bed, her arm slightly brushing the arm of the person lying beside her. She laid in silence for a moment before she opened her eyes and glanced around the room, "Where's my shirt?" She asked him, sitting up on her elbow and looking around.

She could feel Jake shrug from beside her, "I don't know. You could just wear mine, I guess.." He said in response, reaching over to grab his own shirt and then proceeded to hand it over to Holden. The blonde raised an eyebrow and looked at him hard for a couple of minutes before slipping the shirt on. "Why do you need a shirt to wear anyway?" She knitted her eyebrows together and let out a laugh before responding,

"What? You expect me to walk home in my bra?" She laughed a bit more but that stopped as soon as she heard Jake's response.

"I meant.. I thought you were just going to stay the night?" The blonde guy in front of her slowly brought his arms up and rested them behind his head, looking over at her with an expressionless look on her face.

Holden's eyes widened slightly before she cleared her throat to reply, "What? I mean, we never do that kind of stuff…" Her eyes flickered back and forth for a moment, thinking about what he had requested before settling back on him.

"Just stay the night, Holden." He said in a monotone voice. Holden sucked her lips in, thinking about if she should or shouldn't but eventually just laid back down beside him, deciding to stay.

"Fine, I'll stay… But I'm keeping the shirt on." She gave him a small smirk as she turned over onto her side, resting her head on her hand while she looked over at him. Holden watched as Jake did the same thing as her, moving a bit closer to her.

Holden looked around for a moment before looking back up at Jake's eyes, "What's happening to you, Jake?" She asked, a little bit wearily.

She watched as Jake clenched his eyes closed for a moment before looking back at the blonde girl in front of him, "What do you mean, Holden?" He questioned her, un-noticeably moving his hand to rest on Holden's hip.

She lifted up one shoulder into a shrug, "I don't know.. It's just, you don't talk as much as you did before. You also never go out anymore.." She slightly bit her lower lip, somewhat weary over what his reaction would be to her statement.

"I don't know… I guess…" He shrugged once more, keeping his eyes settled on his hand on Holden's hip.

Holden was quiet for a moment, wondering if what she said next would make him upset or not but decided to ask him anyway, "Is it Michael, Jake?" She mumbled quietly, furrowing her eyebrows together and allowing her lips to turn down just a bit into a slight frown.

"I guess that's what's going on. I don't know, Holden." He said, sounding slightly annoyed. Holden groaned inwardly, internally smacking herself for asking him something so stupid.

"I-I'm sorry for even asking…" She said slightly defeated, beginning to move away from him and turning around, facing away from Jake. She slowly closed her eyes when she felt his arm wrap around her waist and bring her closer to his warm body that felt so nice against her own.

She turned her head to look over her shoulder at him, a questioning look on her face. He just looked up at her and slightly shook his head, tightening his grip around her waist. "G'night, Holden." He said as he closed his eyes and placed a soft kiss on her back. Although her shirt was covering her skin, she still felt a shiver run through her spine. She smiled softly to herself and closed her eyes once again, slowly drifting off into a black abyss.
