Disclaimer: Don't own anything but a very fat cat and this laptop I am currently writing on so please do not sue me. Everyone that appears in this story is owned by Shonda Rimes.
I had to write something after that finale. I know it is ridiculous but I was mentally, physically and emotional exhausted after those two hours. This may turn into a one shot series about all the characters and their feelings of being in the after. Their will be some characters that will have more the one one-shot devoted t them.
Damage Done
Cristina
Her hands would not stop shaking.
Her hands never shook they were always steady and full confidence ready for anything at a moment's notice. They hadn't shaken when she dealt with Izzy's cancer or when she dealt with her miscarriage she, they hadn't even shook once the first day she walked into the hospital when she realized that Burke was gone, but they wouldn't stop shaking, now.
She just couldn't understand.
Everyone she cared about was fine and accounted for.
Derek was fine she had gotten his heart started and had stitched him up and was pleased to see that he had made it through the surgery without to much damage done to his insides. He was awake and talking. Meredith was with him now so they were both where they wanted to be. Meredith was physically fine, but distant.
When she has gotten to Settle Pres she had gone straight to Alex's room just to check out his charts. But Lexie had hugged her hard enough to jar her bones when she came though his hospital room and then Cristina found and had started to badger her for details but had been told to go home, by not just Teddy, but Webber too, who had shown up and told the of Mr. Clark's suicide.
She had seen Bailey, who had walked passed her and straight into the arms of her son who had been waiting for her at the hospital. and was informed about Percy and Reed's death from Callie who had been looking for her. Her thoughts went to Jackson, and wondered where he was and if he knew about his friends.
Owen was safe. Unhappy to be stuck inside of a hospital bed but protocol won out over his protests that he was fine. She had watched him from the outside of his room as he spoke to Sloan and explained to him about what had happened in that OR room. She would wait to see him tomorrow and the fallout of their….whatever. She turned away and started for the elevator.
That is when the shaking had started.
There was never a seminar on what were the best methods for getting over having a gun pressed to your neck as you operate on your boss and best friend's husband. But she had been steady, she took pride in that. Anyone else would have crumbled and given up the moment he had entered into the door and uttered "Let Him Die". Like Shadow Sheppard she would have never been able to keep going to keep stitching and saving the life of the man that have saved her person.
Cristina Yang was cold and all about the job, not afraid to step over people to get what she wanted and become the best cardio surgeon to ever step foot inside of this hospital.
It was her destiny.
But her hands WOULDN'T STOP SHAKING.
This was not supposed to happen. Alex was not suppose to get shot, Derek's life should have never been in her hands. There wasn't supposed to be a gun pressed to her neck to stop her from saving someone.
Why had this happened?
AND WHY WON"T HER HANDS STOP SHAKING!
Control snapping she crumpled to the floor in the elevator and cried.
JULES
I will hopefully have the next one up tomorrow.
