Kousuke couldn't remember much after the events of the fifteenth of August. It all seemed like a blur to him. Why was that? Well there was no answer to that question, he thought to himself dejectedly

It felt like whatever happened the fifteenth of August was something important. Very. He felt like there was something missing. And it was making his days dull and monotonous.

Peaceful. But dull.

Or maybe he was running out of things to do... maybe he was at the phase of summer where he felt like he had done everything already. Ayano-neechan would say that and encourage him to join her and his two adopted siblings in today's activities.

Earlier today, Ayano-neechan suggested that he join Shuuya and Tsubomi visit and hang out with Takane, Haruka and Shintaro. But he said he was busy, being someone who worked multiple part-time jobs, and that he wouldn't be able to join them.

"You're always working so hard Kousuke." Ayano pouted, puffing her cheeks out. The brunette thought that she was acting more like a younger sister than an older sister. "Why don't you ask if you can take a few days off so you can join me, Shuuya and Tsubomi?"

Unfortunately, he said that he had to make several important deliveries and take over several shifts at the pet store but he assured her that he would try to figure something out.

In addition to being a delivery man and a pet store employee, he also worked as a florist. Part-time, of course like the rest of his other jobs.

The shop wasn't very far from the Tateyama residence actually. If you just rounded the corner, you would see a little shop with a small sign over it saying "Unity's Flowers." Yes. The store was run by a nice middle-aged woman named "Unity."

Usually there weren't many people who visited. It had the average boy looking for flowers to give flowers to a girl he liked, the person who looked for flowers to place on a loved ones' grave or the woman who wanted flowers to place in a vase on the windowsill. Though the shop would get a bit more busy during Valentines' day. For obvious reasons.

Today, Kousuke was heading over to the Flower Shop to take over the shift of an employee who retired. Miss Unity said that she would fill in for the shift until someone took the shift themself. But Kousuke, being someone too nice, offered to do it for her.

As he rounded the corner, he could make out the tiny, white, one-floor building. It stood out against the larger houses and nearby shops/buildings.

But he was a tad bit distracted and smacked into a petite object, "I'm so sorry!" He apologized quickly, "I wasn't looking where I was going, I'll pay a bit more attention next ti-" He paused in mid-sentence.

Sitting on the ground was a little girl with long, fluffy white hair. She wore a blue dress and a frilly apron over it. But what caught his attention were her large and innocent pink irises. He felt an odd sense deja vu just looking at them. Quickly realizing that he was staring, he cleared his throat and looked away, noticing several books strewn on the floor, she must've been carrying them, he thought.

"I'm sorry for bumping into you Miss- I got a bit distracted with my thoughts, and I didn't notice you- Forgive me please." He said as he picked up the books and helped her up. Not in that order. What scared him, was that she was silent and staring at him. Like. The faraway, lost-in-your-thoughts, dazed look.

"Seto?" She said, her voice quiet and sweet like little bells that couldn't help but make Kousuke fidget nervously. W-What was this feeling? It was uncomfortable... but strangely... pleasant. He snapped out of his thoughts when he realized that the girl had just spoken his name, well his last name at that. No. She couldn't have gotten a lucky guess or anything. She knew him. But from where?

"Uh... My name's Kousuke Seto... People call me Kousuke but I g-guess you can call me Seto?" He said sheepishly, cheeks flushing a light pink.

Suddenly, she rushed towards him and hugged him tightly, catching the brunette by a huge surprise and making him drop the stack of books to the ground.

What was going on?

And what surprised him even more was that she started crying into his shirt.

"E-eh?"

"I-It's you! It's actually you!" She was saying through sobs. He didn't understand her. Have they met somewhere before?

The fifteenth of August. Did they meet somewhere around that time?

Gah. He couldn't remember anything during that time.

The white-haired girl pulled away, her pink eyes still filled with tears, "Oh I-I'm so s-sorry. You don't r-remember. T-this must've been... surprising and weird..." Her lip trembled and she bowed her head, "Gomenasai." She apologized, her voice thick. She covered her face with her bandage wrapped hands, probably drying her eyes.

But she wasn't, she was crying into her hands.

It tore his heart. Just watching her. Kousuke pulled her into a hug and rubbed her back, consoling her. "H-hey, it's okay little girl, don't cry please."

"B-but-" She started, but couldn't make a plausible sentence as she started sobbing uncontrollably.

"I-We may not have met before, but I- I just feel like we did... was it... around August fifteen?"

She stopped and nodded, staring at the ground. "Y-you wouldn't remember..." She muttered forlornly, tears started welling up in her eyes again.

This all felt so familiar.

He... He's done this before... right?

Gah. His memories were so... fuzzy.

But he'd met this girl before somewhere... what was her name?

"W-What's your name?" He asked.

"Marry." She said in a wet and shaky voice.

Marry.

He was positive they'd met before.

It was summer... like today...

But alas, he still couldn't remember... He hugged Marry tighter, "I'm sorry I can't remember... but...

"We can still be friends and see each other again, right?"

I'm sorry it was abrupt.
