A/N: Just a little one-shot I wanted to write.
Disclaimer: I own nothing except Gabby.
Gabby wandered the house idly. She hated being cooped up in this infernal house. Especially since she was alone with her ex-professor, Severus Snape. The ache to tell him how she felt was almost to much to bear. But he would never return her feelings. How could he?
So she turned to books. Reading a good novel and escaping her life, if only for a few moments, was all she needed to mend the hole in her chest.
But she never made it to the library. She bumped into the very man she'd been trying to avoid.
"Gabriella."
"S-Severus."
She cursed herself for stuttering. Why did all the grace and smoothness she had leave her when she needed them most? She tried in vain to recollect herself, but she could already feel herself melting in his deep obsidian gaze…
"Gabriella." She snapped to reality, and saw him frowning thoughtfully. A crimson flush crept up to her pale cheeks, and he couldn't help but think how beautiful she looked when she blushed. If only he could tell her how he felt…
Out of their own accord, she found her hands running through his silky hair. He stiffened, but did not resist. When he didn't pull away, she took that as her chance to tell him how she felt about him. With a deep breathe to steady herself, she said,
"I love you, Severus."
His expression didn't change. She started to panic. What if he didn't feel the same way?
She loved him? How was that plausible? It simply wasn't, but there was no mistaking the adoration in her brown eyes as she looked at him. In fact, it was not unlike the way he'd often looked at Lily.
So when he felt soft lips pressed against his, he did not jerk away like he might have.
She snaked her arms around his neck, and he deepened the kiss, his own arms around Gabby's waist. Under her lips, he murmured,
"I love you too."
And, he realized, it was true. He did love her. He loved her beautiful brown eyes, her curly black hair, that freckle just above her eyebrow…
She smiled, and pressed a kiss onto his hooked nose.
Okay, just a little one-shot. Read and review, please!
