Chapter one :

"Trust me this time; you won't be able to win." Emmet said a big grin appearing on his face, which worried Jasper.

"Well we'll just have to wait and see." Jasper replied, just as Emmet opened his mouth to reply to jasper with a comeback the home phone started ringing.

"Do you mind getting it; I don't want to talk to my mum if that's her. Just tell her I'm at work, or something." Jasper got up quickly and answered the phone on its third ring.

"Jasper Hale, how may I help you?" and then he went silent, his face turned from its normally peaceful self to a look of horror.

"Emmet," Jasper called from the phone. "Emmet, your sisters in hospital."

Without think he rushed to the phone.

"Hello! What's wrong with her? Is she alright?" he begged down the phone.

"Hello Emmet this is Dr Austin, I've got some terrible new. You family were involved I a car crash and Isabella was the only survivor."

"Bella." Emmet tone cracked, "Bella."

"She's stable." The doctor assured him. "I just think it would be best if a family member is there when she wakes up. And she says your name when she's conscience, but that's only for a couple of seconds.

Emmett whispered a yes down the phone, and then gave it to jasper while he slouched on the table eyes full of tears for his sister.

"We'll be there as early as possible tomorrow morning doctor. Thank you, goodbye." Jasper said before putting the phone down.

"René leave her alone, Bella honey, don't worry about a thing. You'll be great and they'll love you." Charlie's voice which was angry when he was talking to René changed when he started talk to his little girl.

"Don't speak to me like that." René shouted at him then slapped him around the face the car swerved.

The blackness which was often a comfort to me usually wasn't this time. It pushed all the horrible memories at me, my dad trying to gain control of the car, him trying to keep me alive and the sad loving look on his face as he looked at me while he died. I felt something clamp down on my arms pushing me back into the soft surface, I tried to fight but they wouldn't release me. Then I heard the voice, one of my favourite voices in the world.

"Bella?" Emmet asked me, I stopped fighting the arms that where holding me down and I waited to wake up. I forced my eyes to open.

"Emmet!" I groaned as I pulled myself up to hug him.

"Easy there tiger." He said in the softest voice, "Your hurt."

I couldn't really remember much about the time between waking up and seeing my brothers face and jumping into his car. I remember breaking down in his arms crying, saying it was all my fault and Emmet just deigning it.

"Bella, I have a very good guess whose fault it was and it wasn't yours," he said while he cradled me on his lap stroking my hair kissing my head every now and then. "OR dads." He said when he felt that I was about to say something.

Emmet's massive jeep hadn't really changed much since I'd last been in it, and the extra space that annoyed me last time didn't this time.

"You okay Bella?" Emmet asked me,

I just nodded.

"We'll be home soon." Jasper said leaning his head on the chair by my shoulder.

A kept falling in and out of consciences, only hearing snippets of what my brother and Jasper were saying but not really understanding it.

"…I got Alice to do up the large spare room…"

"…no one picking up…"

"…you can see the resemblance between you two…"

I woke up when the smoothness of the car disappeared and gave way to a comforting unevenness.

"Welcome to your new home Bella." Jasper said a beautiful large white house came into view.

"It's…" Bella said trying to find the right word for it.

"Home." Emmet said looking at her, she nodded to her self.
