Lights flashed, strange shapes swam into view. Roxas's head killed and he slowly reached to clutch it as he was beginning to awake. As his eyes adjusted to the light he could make out finer details of the room he was in. Cream walls and floor kept the room simple and, to add to the calm atmosphere, next to Roxas was a small, wooden bedside table holding a glass vase of pretty, pale pink orchids. The bed he was in had a steel frame, a plain white pillow and the sheets were pulled up to his waste. Suddenly, he couldn't suppress a little gasp of shock as he noticed he was not the only one in the room. At this a girl, around his age, turned and smiled.

"Oh, you're finally awake, sleepy head", she came up to him and sat, gently, on the end of his bed. "I'm sorry; I'm Mia by the way. Its ok now, you're safe, if a little ill", Mia ran her fingers through Roxas's sweaty, fair hair. The girl looked kind and trusting; her hair was mousey brown and pulled back into a high, flicking pony tail and her round, emerald eyes looked at him with complete innocence. "Here take some of this". Mia shoved a medicine spoon into his mouth and, despite the shock of having a spoon shoved in his mouth; Roxas swallowed the sweet, sticky mixture. It was actually quite nice and tasted of strawberries. Roxas sighed and a little bit dribbled down his chin. Mia caught it with the spoon and popped it into his mouth. She giggled at his embarrassment. "There, that should ease your headache a little" she smiled.

24 hours earlier

The rain lashed down in Riku's face as he concentrated on his enemy. They both circled each other swords and keyblades at the ready. He was fighting his best friend's nobody, Roxas.

"Just give up now or get hurt" Riku said so calmly that it didn't really fit with the tight atmosphere.

"Never!" Roxas yelled and with that he ran towards Riku and slashed down hard. Riku dodged and from there it just looked like a busy action scene from a movie; a string of images that hardly seemed real.
