Nymphadora Tonks always hated her name. Ever since she was a kid, she would complain to her parents about it. Not that they understood.

"I think it's a lovely name," Andromeda would always tell her.

"It's a horrible name!" Tonks would argue. "Would you want to be called Nymphadora?"

Honestly, parents just don't understand.

Then, there was Sirius. He loved to call her Nymphadora, just to annoy her. She tried to pretend that it didn't bother her, knowing he would only continue if it affected her, but it did. It did bother her. She hated her name, and did not, under any circumstances, be called by it.

Finally, she decided to just yell at him every time he called her Nymphadora.

Then, there was Remus. Somehow, Tonks could never get annoyed at him when he called her by her first name. At first, she would just tell him not to call her that. She would tell him she wanted to be called by her first name. But she never yelled. Her hair never turned red. She never treated him the way she treated the others. Maybe that was the first sign.

He didn't always call her by her first name. Most of the time, he called her Tonks. But eventually, on the occasions when he did call her Nymphadora, she didn't mind it so much. She didn't even tell him to only call her Tonks.

Tonks liked the way he said her name. There was something about how he said it that made her smile. Not that she ever like her name or anything… She was Nymphadora Tonks after all.

But, then again, he was Remus Lupin.

Maybe, just maybe, she liked her name after all.
