"DOCTOR!" I shouted as the TARDIS lurched to the side, nearly throwing me to the floor. I clung to the console. "Are you trying to kill me or something? Because I don't think my sister would be very happy if you brought me home DEAD!"

"Would you relax, I'm working on it! We just got hit by a meteor in case you weren't paying attention!" the Doctor said as he flipped switches and turned dials, attempting to straighten out the TARDIS's flight pattern so we could land safely. The TARDIS stopped lurching and the Doctor breathed a sigh of relief. I let go of the console and collapsed to the floor.

"Okay, you can calm down now," he said. "We're about to land in London, December 31, 2013, around 11:45 PM."

"But Doctor, you said you were gonna take me back to Texas after that ordeal with the Cybermen," I said as I stood up. "Right planet, right day, wrong continent." I grabbed my red and blue varsity jacket off of the hat rack next to the door. "Of course, I've always wanted to visit London on New Year's, so it can't hurt." I slipped my navy blue scarf over my dark auburn and blonde hair to rest on my neck, pulling it out from underneath the garment. The Doctor grabbed his hat off of the same hat rack, put it on, and straightened the celery on his lapel.

"I couldn't control where the TARDIS was going to land," the Doctor said. "Shall we?" He swung the doors open then stepped back, allowing me to head out first. I opened the door to find we were in an alley.

"Where are we?" I asked.

"Come on, the fireworks are going to be this way. You don't want to miss them," the Doctor said, walking out of the alley, forcing me to run to catch up.

"If I keep travelling with you, I'll have a hundred pounds lost in two weeks with the amount I'm running," I wheezed. "Slow down a little!"

"Sorry," the Doctor said, stopping to let me catch up. "You do need to start working out a little." I glared at him for a second before I gave him a slap across the face.

"What was that for?!" he asked, his hand on his face where I slapped him.

"That little quip right there. It's not funny," I said, massaging my hand.

"Sorry."

"You will be if you do that again."

We continued on towards where the fireworks would be best seen from, which happened to be on top of a hospital. The Doctor was still rubbing his face, and when he removed his hand, I could see that his cheek was red. I snickered a little as I pulled out a mirror and retouched my lipstick.

"Countdown's starting," I said, smiling ear-to-ear as the crowd below began counting down.

"TEN!"

"That it is…"

"NINE! EIGHT! SEVEN! SIX! FIVE!"

"Happy New Year," the Doctor said as he laid a hand on my shoulder.

"FOUR! THREE! TWO! ONE! HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

"Happy New Year, Doctor," I said with a smile.
