I was doing history, and read this, and I just couldn't resist!

I don't own Hetalia.

"Mr. America, sir!" Someone called, running after the nation.

"Hey, calm down, dude! What's up?" Alfred Jones replied, grinning at the man who had called him. He had heard of him a few times. Colonel Thames Meacham. He was known for his intense admiration of the president, Andrew Jackson.

"I was just wondering if you had a good idea for a present for the president." He said shyly, looking at his feet. It wasn't everyday you talked to a country.

"Oh, is it his birthday, or something?" He asked. "Well, I dunno. What do you usually get old people for gifts? Maybe a cheesebasket?

Meacham's eyes lit up. "Good idea! Thank you, sir!" He ran off, apparently planning something.

-Line!-

The next day, Alfred was walking to the White House to find his path block by a giant block of... cheese?

He ran up to one of the many people helping pull the hunk of chedder up the street. "Hey! What's this for?" He asked.

"This guy said it was for the president." The man shrugged, and resumed pushing.

Alfred stood there for a moment, surprised, then ran to warn Jackson ahead of time. "When I told Meacham to get the guy a cheesebasket, I didn't mean something like this!"

In 1835, Colonel Thames Meacham of Sandy Creek, New York, decided to give Andrew Jackson a giant chunk of chedder cheese weighing 1,400 pounds, measuring 4 feet in diameter and 2 feet thick.

Jackson served it on George Washington's birthday, Feb. 22, 1837, after letting it age, to the general public.

I couldn't find anything else on Meacham, so I just made his personality up. But this is one of the funniest bits of history I've read in a while!
