My father retired as sixth Hokage of the Hidden Leaf after seventeen years of service. Then he left the office and is probably the first to have a hand in the election of the next Hokage. His vote actually tipped the scales in his old friends favor. So Konohamaru Sarutobi, grandson of the third Hokage, became the seventh Hokage.
My father, Naruto Uzumaki, retired after my sister, Natsumi Uzumaki was born. Oh! I forgot to introduce myself! I'm Haku, Haku Uzumaki.
My father knew a boy from the hidden mist village; he made all the wrong choices and eventually died by Kakashi Hatake's hand. Naruto related to this boy very closely, because they were both… outcast when they were young. The boy never amounted to anything in the end, so he named me after him hoping I would amount to something for his sake.
I joined the Shinobi Academy for the sake of that wish. My father had a friend… Sasuke Uchiha. He… died in an accident, after his daughter was born. Riko Uchiha... Sakura Uchiha has been missing for fourteen years. But there are too many people who say she's still alive to declare her KIA.
Riko's become my best friend. And one of my partners in the Genin team. That my father was in, and her father… and her mother... she never knew either of her parents. So my father took her in, hoping that Sakura would return.
We have another teammate in our group, as is customary in most hidden villages. His name is Akio Nara. He and I are close, but not as much as Riko and me.
Kakashi-sensei was late the day our team was supposed to form. Riko said she found something on her mom. Akio and I gathered round and found a letter… addressed to Riko. Telling her that Sakura Uchiha was headed to the Hidden Rain Village before she disappeared.
