Jasper and I were on our way to get Edward from Bella's house. It was his last night as a single man; he can't possibly think that we would let him skip out tonight! He's going to spend the rest of eternity with Bella; he could last a few hours with just his brothers.
Besides, what's so special about watching her sleep? It's kind of stalkerish. Humans talk in their sleep all the time. Well, sometimes, but all she says is, "Edward, Edward." It got so annoying when she fell asleep at our house. The only good thing that comes out of it is that I can make fun of Bella after she wakes up.
When we got to Bella's house, all I could hear was heavy breathing and Bella's heart beating erratically out of her chest. I wasn't afraid of interrupting anything; Edward was too afraid of hurting her. He wouldn't so anything that might have even the slightest outcome of hurting her. He was still hesitant of kissing her.
I scaled the side of the house. I knew what window was Bella's because Edward's scent was still there. I believed that Edward's scent was permanently there since he used the path so much.
To be dramatic, I scraped my nails against the window and said, "If you don't send Edward out, we're coming in after him."
I heard her laugh and a few seconds later, Edward jumped out the window. He landed next to me and said, "You're really annoying, you know."
"Yes I do, and I take pride in it."
We heard Bella say, "You better not make him late."
Jasper scaled the house and said, "Don't worry Bella. We'll have him home in plenty of time."
"Jasper," we heard her say, "What do vampires do for bachelor parties? You're not taking him to a strip club are you?"
I yelled, "Don't tell her anything!"
Edward hit my and then started laughing.
"Relax, Bella. We Cullens have our own version. Just a few mountain lions, a couple of grizzly bears. Pretty much an ordinary night out," Jasper said.
"Thanks, Jasper," she said. Then he dropped back down to us.
"Let's go!" I said. I know that if we didn't get Edward out of here, Jasper and I would have to drag him away, literally. We ran back to the house and got in my Jeep. We drove to a reserve with a serious mountain lion problem and started hunting. I did a little more than hunt. I liked to fight my food. After we had a few mountain lions and a grizzly each, I said, "So, Mr. Cullen. This is your last night as a single man. Are you excited?"
Edward rolled his eyes and replied, "I've been waiting over a century to marry this girl. Excited doesn't even begin to cover it."
"So, are you ready to spend the rest of eternity with this one girl?" Jasper asked.
"She's not just a girl. She's perfect. And I want to spend the rest of eternity with her."
"Seriously, I don't see the draw," I provoked.
"Seriously, Rosalie isn't that much of a draw. Why do you even put up with her? It seems like a lot more work than any pretty face is worth." He smiled; he knew that hit a nerve.
I growled and launched myself at him, but he moved out of the way the second I leaped. Stupid mind reading. That continued like that for most of the night. Jasper even joined in with me. Edward laughed the whole time. I wondered how he would do without the mind reading. I'll just have to wait till Bella's a vampire. Then we'll see who's laughing.
