Harry Potter was sitting in silence in the second year Griffindor boys' dormitory. He stared at the book in his hands. Picking up a quill he wrote out his question.

Tom, do you know why the Malfoys hate the Weasleys so much? The answer was not long in coming.

Yes Harry, I do. Let me show you why.

Harry looked around to see Tom sitting alone in a dormitory talking to a fifth-year boy who could only be a Malfoy. "Abraxas, why do you hate that third-year blood traitor Septimus Weasley more than anyone else in the school?" Tom asked.

"Tom, do you know why the Weasleys are a family of blood traitors?"

"No," Tom shook his head.

"Do you know how a family becomes blood traitors?"

Tom looked uncomfortable and shook his head.

Abraxas sighed "I'll tell you. A pureblood becomes a blood traitor by committing a crime against an upstanding pureblood family. An entire family can only become blood traitors if a group of at least three members of that family commit a crime against another pureblood family. It has to be a crime so disgraceful that none of the criminals or their family could ever be forgiven by the family that the crime was committed against. Weasley's grandfather, Bobbert, and Bobbert's brothers, Carlos and Frankforta, committed one such act against Eric Christopher Malfoy, my father."

Tom looked just as shocked as Harry felt. Harry did some quick thinking So Ron's great-great-grandfather did something horrible to Draco's great-grandfather?

Abraxas continued "Eric Malfoy was seven years old when he met Bobbert Weasley in Diagon Alley thirty-eight years ago. Bobbert was thirty-nine, Carlos was forty-one and Frankforta was forty-eight. Eric was lost, Bobbert took hold of him and apparited with him to a muggle city. There he met with his brothers. They force-fed Eric a potion that temperairly blocked his magic. They stole away his innocence and free will. They then tied him up and left him there. It was hours before he was found by muggles, weeks before my grandfather found him and another week before they let my grandfather take him home. Eric was brought back to Malfoy Manor on the third of August. He was kidnaped on the first of June."

The last thing Harry saw before going back was a picture of an arristocratic looking man holding on to Abraxas as a child.
